Renovation at home..I hate that.

Our home needs maintenance as it looks old now. I am happy that the walls will become new and shiny but I hate renovations at home because we have to work hard and have to move all furniture as we are not moving to a rented house till it ends. Two or three days will be busy for me. I will have to work like a laborer these days. My wife already has a slipped disc issue in her back so she won't be able to help me much with it. Do you hate renovation at home too?

I’m sorry to hear that your wife still has back issues. My husband and I enjoy renovations.

That's fine, not all the people like it even if the end result is good.

I don't generally enjoy hard work. The end result may be worth it though.

How was the renovation? If we do renovations, I wish I can do it one house at a time.

Still, some construction work is going on here. I am tired of it now.

@sjvg1976 I can understand that. Though I am not living in the province, I know my father is also tired of the unfinished construction at home.

Mostly we enjoyed this sort of work but as we got older it did become harder.

I remember when my dad and late mother had to do renovations at their home. It seemed to take forever! They were very glad to get it over with once and for all.

It was only a small touches to my room while I was on a 3-day vacation from home. So, it was not a bother for me, although my son must have been quite busy doing it in between his working days.

You bet I hate it...we in our building are undertaking major renovation works this month and the next. Including planning installation of water softener. My father prevented that, thinking it would be expensive. Others are keen, including I. But they are still working on sizes, costs, location, etc. Gates are being replaced, painting is being done, something to address Bird menace is being started. Lift has been repaired recently, and though slow, it is satisfactory. Terrace is being cleared, so that people can take walk ..as of now these cables of tvs were on terrace floor, and on the other side clothes lines were floating randomly. Something or the other is moving. I need to get bathrooms repaired. But after softner works. Interiors painting I started...kinda...two cupboards at a time. Once cupboards are done then few other things like shelves should close...so magnets have to be screwed in.

We hire someone if home needs renovation but it's only the roofing. It easily rusted because we live near the sea. When we repainted the walls we also hire. It's a tiresome work.Hoping your wifey gets better soon.

Well, on the contrary, renovations excites me. I love DIY-ing and so it makes me giddy to renovate. the only hateful thing about it for me I guess is that point of having additional expense.

We need to deal with a few leaks in the roof before hurricane season starts in June. Good luck with yours .

I agree with you, moving things for renovations snd putting them back again is indeed tough. But I love to renovate because it gives a refreshing feeling.
