Some of my pots are meant for induction stoves.

Although Daniel told me that "any pot" could be used and that he had done so, I remember that when Dixie´s son went to live with her for some time, he scratched her new induction stove in a bad way by using old pots. So I went to check in my kitchen and turned the pots to read the bottom. And in several it said that they were for induction stoves. They will have to do for the moment. Later on, I will learn more about it all. I just learned that in several countries, Gas stoves are forbidden. Who would have thought of it! What sort of stove do you have?

We have a regular electric stove. I'm glad some of your pots will work with the induction stove.

I don´t cook as much as I did now. I live alone and I only invite a few friends. So I think that my few pots left will do.

@marguicha That's good. It also lets you do something with the pots and pans you can't use anymore, too.

I suppose sometime induction stoves will replace gas ones as computers replaced my old typewriter.

We have a gas stove where I live and I thank God for that. Induction stoves are a nightmare for me. I burn things when I use it.

I believe I mentioned what types of stoves I have in one of your previous posts. I have double electric wall ovens and a warming drawer, too.

@DianneN I chequed the stoves you have online and I would also need a stove over a counter to be able to open a lid and maybe stir with a spoon if needed. I use the oven for food that doesn´t need that. And I don´t have that awesome warming drawer you have

@marguicha They're still allowed and available for sale. I think they're planning to start moving away from gas in kitchens, though, so newly built houses just won't have the hookups for gas stoves anymore.

If I had a home I would have induction ovens. I used one at my ex's mom's place and really liked it. I did a post a few months ago about the question of gas stoves. I don't use gas. I like electricity.

I have three. One is a gas stove, one induction cooker and the other one is just an electric one. Not all pots are meant for induction cooker. But these days, most of the pots and pans being sold are made for induction cooking as majority of the people here tend to own an induction cooker.

@marguicha - I always had gas stoves, except the last two years in Monte Carlo when they banned gas in the apartments. I spent a fortune in electricity those two last years, even the water boiler had to be replaced with an electric one.

@marguicha It’s much easier than a gas stove and safer.

We have both gas stove and induction. It is true gas or LPG stoves are forbidden in some countries because of the danger of gas leak which can lead to explosion. Induction is safer though it consumes electricity. We have separate pots for gas stove and induction because the pans we use for the stove can't be detected on the induction cooker.

Any pan that is magnetic should work on an induction stove. Aluminum, ceramic, or glass pans won't, and there are some stainless steel pans that may not work, too. The easiest way to tell is really just to try sticking a magnet to the bottom. We have an inexpensive electric stove here... I think the landlord just went with what was cheap. I really dislike using it because it has three small burners and only one large one. The last place we lived had a stove that had two large and two small, and it was a lot nicer for cooking things that need multiple large pots at the same time.
