I am still being "ghosted" by the woman who owes me $500. Sigh.

@Vandana7 might be right when she says I am naive. I did see my friend Harper a week or two ago, but only for an hour. The woman who runs that Day Care owes me $500, and has for over a month. She doesn't return my calls. I wonder if she'll suddenly close her doors and flee back to the Ivory Coast. I may stop by there this morning to see if she has any kids. I enjoy playing with Harper and her friends. Maybe I'll bring my friends G*ido and Tyrone with me, just to show them how cute my little charges are. It's OK, though, as I am working on selling some mining claims in Montana that I will never use. I am trying not to outlive my retirement money. And by that I do NOT mean that I hope to drink and smoke myself to death. Have you ever "written off" smallish sums of money that were owed to you? Have you ever known people that you thought were "good" but who later turned out to be "criminal"? Note: Why is G*ido" a bad word? Am I being naive again?

Strange are the ways of algorithms that interpret bad words. Writing off as much as $500 would give me some real pain, but if there is no way to collect, what can you do?

Yeah.... some situations...asking also becomes awkward...but I would ask that 500. Reason...the person may try this trick with another person who can ill afford to lose that. Pony has mining claims, that person may not. To tolerate a wrong is therefore as much wrong as doing the wrong.

I can't even write the name of the thug I was going to bring to her house to help me collect.

@vandana7 You make a good point here. "but I would ask that 500. Reason...the person may try this trick with another person who can ill afford to lose that. Pony has mining claims, that person may not. To tolerate a wrong is therefore as much wrong as doing the wrong."

5.00 is a smallish sum of money. I wouldn't consider 500.00 to be. I guess you better kiss it goodbye, and be happy if it ever happens to come your way again.

I agree 500 is way too large a sum to write off easily.

I don't really consider $500 to be a small sum either.

I've never had that happen to me. I have never had this situation. I have learned early on that a boss wasn't reliable and left before it could. I had a child to raise after all.

Do you think they ever think about it? My brother owes me a lot for work I've done on and related to the cabin we co-own. I have long since accepted that I will never see it.

@JudyEv True...hopefully she is not cheating Pony. And hopefully, pony has a valid contract for it, so that he can enforce his rights.

@vandana7 She might have a good reason but that doesn't help Pony.

I have met a few people like that and I learned a long time ago not to loan money. When anyone has gotten money from me it was a gift.

I would never loan that woman money. She owes me for work I did for her. At a discount to my normal rate.

@RubyHawk That's the question. Would it be worth the trouble. And Small Claims has the right to make someone legally liable. But they do not do "enforcement."

@TheHorse That is horrible. Why not go to small court and sue her or would it be worth the trouble.

@TheHorse Yeah....all those..LOL Sometime later in life, a much older me, will give you a chance to get real about how life is at this end of the world. LOL You would know why Vanny is such a firebrand. LOL

Wait...those are the same things I experiences here...assuming the slow pace refers to things like medical insurance, unemployent insurance, legal action against criminals....

Depends on the sum, little things, no. Larter things I'd go to ends of the Earth to get what I'm owed.

I don't think $500 is smallish sums of money, and that you shouldn't allow the woman who doesn't pay off a debt to get away with it.

I am trying to think of courses of action to take. Small Claims Court can be a pain in the neck.

From WIkipedia G*ido is a North American subculture, slang term, and ethnic slur referring to working-class urban Italian-Americans. I hope you can get your money from that woman. A friend of my niece was fiance with a guy from Ivory Coast. He stole her car, he stole money from her parents and disappeared... I do not want to sound racist, just warning you.

I think it's appalling that the woman owes you that much. Was she there when you stopped by? Did you ask her about the $$?
