I am still being "ghosted" by the woman who owes me $500. Sigh.

@Vandana7 might be right when she says I am naive. I did see my friend Harper a week or two ago, but only for an hour. The woman who runs that Day Care owes me $500, and has for over a month. She doesn't return my calls. I wonder if she'll suddenly close her doors and flee back to the Ivory Coast.
I may stop by there this morning to see if she has any kids. I enjoy playing with Harper and her friends. Maybe I'll bring my friends G*ido and Tyrone with me, just to show them how cute my little charges are.
It's OK, though, as I am working on selling some mining claims in Montana that I will never use. I am trying not to outlive my retirement money. And by that I do NOT mean that I hope to drink and smoke myself to death.
Have you ever "written off" smallish sums of money that were owed to you? Have you ever known people that you thought were "good" but who later turned out to be "criminal"?
Note: Why is G*ido" a bad word? Am I being naive again?

Strange are the ways of algorithms that interpret bad words.
Writing off as much as $500 would give me some real pain, but if there is no way to collect, what can you do?

Yeah.... some situations...asking also becomes awkward...but I would ask that 500. Reason...the person may try this trick with another person who can ill afford to lose that. Pony has mining claims, that person may not. To tolerate a wrong is therefore as much wrong as doing the wrong.

@vandana7 You make a good point here.

5.00 is a smallish sum of money. I wouldn't consider 500.00 to be. I guess you better kiss it goodbye, and be happy if it ever happens to come your way again.

I've never had that happen to me. I have never had this situation. I have learned early on that a boss wasn't reliable and left before it could. I had a child to raise after all.

@TheHorse I don't think he even remembers. He paid me about half of what he owed me

@wolfgirl569 Heh. A common strategy. Make us "glad" to get "something."

Depends on the sum, little things, no. Larter things I'd go to ends of the Earth to get what I'm owed.

@TheHorse I would go after that, because that's a lot of money.

I don't think $500 is smallish sums of money, and that you shouldn't allow the woman who doesn't pay off a debt to get away with it.

From WIkipedia
G*ido is a North American subculture, slang term, and ethnic slur referring to working-class urban Italian-Americans.
I hope you can get your money from that woman. A friend of my niece was fiance with a guy from Ivory Coast. He stole her car, he stole money from her parents and disappeared... I do not want to sound racist, just warning you.

I think it's appalling that the woman owes you that much. Was she there when you stopped by? Did you ask her about the $$?
