My Word For Today... Procrastination

Happy Friday Everyone!! day three of beautiful sunny warm weather. Wish I could bottle it and save it for a nasty cold winter day. I'm off to a slow start today. I really don't feel like doing much and have been sitting on my butt, having coffee and on the laptop. The tv is on but I haven't really paid much attention. It's just mostly for background noise. I know I need to get up and get some things done but... I got a text message from my daughter in law earlier this morning asking if I could crochet two solid black scarfs for one of her church friends. Of course I can This person is already starting their Christmas shopping. Talk about planning ahead and here I am sitting on my butt. Makes me feel a little embarrassed that I'm even telling you all how lazy I am today. A few more minutes, a few more posts to read and a few more notifications to get to and then I'm closing the laptop and gettting up. Trust me...I'll be back

I had one of those days yesterday. It wasn't a slow day, but one where I didn't spend much time on the computer.

I think I'm in a funk. I don't have any interest in being on social media and have been keeping off the computer for longer periods of time. I'm trying to catch up here after missing a few days. I'm constantly behind on notifications.

@just4him I'm sorry that you're behind in getting around to working on Where Eagles Soar but I'm kinda glad that I'm not the only one who is falling behind in getting things done. Maybe it's early spring fever? Hope your son enjoy the cake and has a wonderful birthday.

@Marilynda1225 I'm behind today with over a hundred notifications. I will need to get off here soon. I have strawberries to make for a strawberry shortcake for tomorrow. My son knows he'll get it tomorrow. I've been feeling like that a lot lately. Even when it comes to working on my book. And I really need to work on that if I'm going to get it published soon. As we pass the middle of the month and I still have two-thirds of the book to get through, it looks like it will be May before I publish Where Eagles Soar.

Don't feel bad. I feel the same way a lot and I procrastinate way too much. I did run a load of dishes this afternoon and after that I ran two loads of laundry. I also went to help my sister clean windows for a condo my brother bought for another sister that will be moving back home. She's lived in Detroit since going to college. But this morning and this evening I've played my games mostly. Oh, and I did pay a few bills earlier too.

You always sound busy so I find it hard to believe that you're as much of a procrastinator as I am.

@MarshaMusselman we are very much the same about using our time. I really concentrate on the things that absolutely have to be done and spend the rest of my time reading, crocheting and watching probably too uch tv

@Marilynda1225 when I'm busy, I'm busy but when I have free time I don't use it wisely. I put off cleaning other than dishes and laundry and play my games or nap. I did a thorough cleaning of my bathroom sink recently and with a tooth brush. I also put away clothes that were stacking up but I could have found much more to tackle but choose not to.

Yeah, me too. But I've been doing that since 2020 so now I have a total mess and I can blame Roscoe for a lot of it ......... still, I will have to face that and get it taken care of someday but probably not today.

@rebelann when I was younger I was one of those people who believed "don't put off til tomorrow what you can do today" but now I've reversed it and live by the "why do today what you can put off to tomorrow"

This is way too early to start worrying about next Christmas, in my opinion. I woke up to go to the bathroom and, when I finish my notifications, I'll go back to sleep. I hope you enjoy your day.

We had a few beautiful days and now today it's lightly raining. We need the rain for the grass, flowers, etc.

Some people think about Christmas all year long. I just got some prezzies from sis. One of them was a reindeer soap. Think I am going to save that for the season.

There are times when Christmas pops into my mind during the year but I've never been one to shop year long. I give a lot of credit for anyone who doesn't wait until the last minute to Christmas shop.

Someone is on the ball thinking of Christmas already. I cannot think of that just yet with this unusually nice summer-like weather.
