Shopping in the Rain

Today needed to do a quick shopping run into Uxbridge and I wanted to get it done before the forecast rain started. Of course, as soon as I was ready to go, it began raining. I was ready with my jacket, gloves and lights. My trailer and front bag have their rain covers, which are nice and bright for the journey home and kept my the cat food dry, along with my precious tea! Once I was home, unloaded and dried off, not only did it stop raining, but the sun made an appearance! Typical

Mother Nature loves playing tricks on us. I'm glad you got your shopping done. Now you can enjoy the sunshine without needing to do anything else.

Such a great set up you have there...totally prepared for the rain. I really love that bike, wouldn't mind one of those meself. Oh of course, once you got home, the rain stopped. I hope you got some Jammy Dodgers or something nice.

The bike is a Brompton, folding machine. I use it for most of local trips and take it away on train trips. I was very good and didn't buy myself any treats, but it is the weekend, so I may indulge!

Are you able to keep mostly to bike paths when you do a trip like this? It must get a bit hairy at times. It's misting rain again here today but we don't really have any plans so it's all good - and I'm in the middle of a good book so it's even better.

Mostly it is quiet streets and short sections of cycle path, there is one 'minor' road that is busy. Wonder if it has anything to do with the hospital on it?

That is always the way, it can be dry all morning, and the minute you step outside to do something the rain starts. Glad you made it home safely.

A bit damp, but glad to be home. I am thinking I should have worn thicker gloves as the old fingers were a bit chilled by the time I got back

I would feel troubled going shopping in rain. Our roads fill with water everywhere so don't go out when it rains at least on a two-wheeler. You have a good arrangement to keep the goods in your vehicle.
