Another brilliant culinary invention from The Horse?

As you know, I invented a simple dish with an Italian twist. I boil pasta, drain it, put olive oil on it, and the add some grated Parmesan cheese. I thought I was making a common Italian dish, but @LadyDuck and @Maluse informed me that no self-respecting European would put grated Parmesan cheese on this classic Italian dish. More recently, I invented yet another dish. I was cooking some bacon and noticed that it tasted unusually sweet and delicious. Then I remembered that I had used that pan for teriyaki chicken earlier in the day and not washed it. Today, I made a piece of bacon and poured some Kikkoman teriyaki sauce over it. It wasn't quite as yummy as the thicker packaged stuff with the TJ's teriyaki chicken, but it was still good. Have you ever invented new dishes?

Yesterday, I had two hamburger patties, I prepared a "pizzaiola sauce" (heat two garlic cloves in a little olive oil, add plain tomato sauce, half tablespoon of tomato paste, a little warm water,. Cook for 30 minutes, add salt and pepper, add the hamburger patties, cook for another 12 minutes, serve with boiled bulgur (crushed wheat).

I love pizziola sauce but never tried it with hamburger patties.

@Marilynda1225 It is the first time that I try with hamburger patties. I bought many frozen patties and I am trying to invent ways to prepare them.

Sounds good, though I don't think I've ever had crushed wheat.

Vince poured chocolate port on bacon once. That was pretty good too. He asked his brother to get the port for him so the brother brough the chocolate flavoured one.

One never knows what might taste good. I don't know how to spell it, but perhaps crepes susette was invented by accident in an unreported incident involving drunken chefs.

@JudyEv That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I do it all the time. If I cooked it then I invented it

Can I claim I "cooked" it if I put a flame under it?

@rakski It actually turned out well. It was frozen Indian creamed spinach and some frozen Japanese teriyaki chicken on the side, both with "enhancements," of course.

Given my horrible cooking skills, every time I cook I am pretty much inventing a new dish. Sometimes it even resembles food!

@TheHorse Why do you fall asleep while you are cooking? Usually when I cook I’ll grab my phone and hop on myLot while I’m waiting. And then I promptly forget about what I was cooking and usually ruin dinner. It’s all myLot’s fault!

When I do not fall asleep while cooking, my creations usually taste good.

I made a concoction of carrots and cauliflower, well seared in a frying pan that cam out great. I cooked the carrots for a bit in the microwave first, then seasoned it all with salt pepper, garlic and thyme.

@TheHorse Yes, Brown Basmati rice. It was a side to go with baked chicken thighs.

Well, yes, I did, but I wouldn’t willingly admit I finished it because I didn’t want to waste it. Only to make it again when those were the only ingredients I had the next night.

First you have to clarify what are you not? Are you not self respecting? Are you not a European... Well, ...evil grin Most of my dishes are new because I have yet to master the art of consistency...LOL

When I was making food I was also creating like putting together things I knew would go well. Now I just heat the frozen stuff. One of my favorites was layering thinly slice potatoes, sliced tomatoes, and sliced smoke sausage then poured over all eggs and baked for about 30 minutes, Cut in slices it can be eaten hot or cold,

Sounds pretty good. I have always like potatoes layered with cheese and then baked.

Right now I am cooking up some (formerly) frozen Indian curry chicken for lunch. I don't know if I will "enhance" it.
