I did NOT order another cake!

I discovered today that there were many important groceries that I did not have. So I started a new list and I´ll have it tomorrow at noon. But I behaved well. Although the ice cream I last bought was not what I´d call my favorite, I will eat it all before asking for more. And I will not order so soon another chocolate cake. Instead, I will cook inexpensive meals for a few days. That does not mean that I will eat things I don´t like, I bought eggs and although they are a lot more expensive than before, after looking at the price of red meat I am considering turning into a complete vegetarian and not for ethical reasons. The fish I love best were more expensive than the most expensive beef so that is out too. I´ll eat legumes once a week and I´ll eat puddings another day or two. Are you changing your way of eating considering the price of food?. Now I´ll turn off the lights. It is past midnight and I will throw away a lot of things from my desktop. Sleep tight. See you tomorrow.

Pretty and I buy cheaper cuts of meat but the same veggies that we have always bought. I'm glad you can still find foods you like, even with the higher food prices.

It is easy to cook for one person. And I´m a good cook so I can do a lot with inexpensive ingredients.

@marguicha I agree... It's just as easy for me to cook for two people and we're given money to buy food.

I haven't eaten red meat or eggs in ages. I would love to eat salmon a lot, but that too, is expensive.

@marguicha Eggs are so good in so many ways. I just can't bring myself to pay so much for them.

@AmbiePam Everything has gone up. But we must eat something. What proteins do you eat? Here eggs and chicken are still the most inexpensive.

I am also turning into vegetarian, red meat price is too much high now. I still can buy chicken and some kind of fish. I have changed a lot my was of eating because of the increasing costs.

I don't eat meat. But I have been changing the way I eat not because of prices, but because of high blood pressure.

Yes, I have. I've switched to more affordable food as I'm working with a monthly budget.

Sometimes, I do, if these have exorbitant prices. If I can still afford them. I will buy what I want instead. Sleep well and see you tomorrow.

We buy our beef by the quarter, and that is the most economical way to purchase it. It also means that you will always have the same flavour and texture. Beef would be the largest part of a grocery bill, so that has not affected me. I buy less of the other things, juices for example. I used to keep apple and orange juices but now only buy it if we are not feeling well. I buy more store brand canned goods in some cases and larger packages of tissues, paper towels and bathroom tissue to save money.

We get Meals on Wheels 5 times a week for lunch. They only cost $2.50 each. We eat a lot of sandwiches and one-serving frozen meals.

We don't eat much red meat, it's too expensive. Try to have it once per week. I have discovered Aldi has wonderful, affordable fish--salmon, perch, flounder, etc.. They are frozen filets in a package, all packed individually--and are the sustainably caught fish, etc. Very good and the price isn't bad. We eat chicken and beans and fish, lean pork, eggs...eggs are still not as cheap as they used to be, but they do supply a lot of protein and are still one of the cheapest ones to buy here right now. We still have vegetables and such...often potatoes and salad things are wildly priced as well. We just try to get creative with what is on sale, and not waste anything. You are a good cook. Just try to get in enough protein, as that is pretty important.

We haven't yet changed much but certainly meat is getting more and more expensive.
