No Ball Gown.

[em]rasp[/em And yet still a few of the students still wear ball gowns. I feel sorry for them though because I saw how difficult it was for them to walk and do things while wearing those huge gowns. Their gowns are pretty but it was surely a struggle for them to walk, to sit and to fit their gowns in the venue especially while the others can walk and act freely. There are some of my daughter's friends.

All three girls in the picture look lovely, but I think I would want a gown that would not hinder me throughout the night in whatever I did.

that is what I think too. The gown is pretty but the way I saw her struggle in walking made me worry that she might kiss the floor. good thing her friends are always with her

To each their own. You'd be hard pressed to get me in a dress.

The girls all look beautiful. As far as I can remember, when we went to buy Pretty a dress for Junior and again for Senior Prom, there were no restrictions except how deep my pockets went at the time. I told Pretty an upper limit and she stuck to dresses right at or just below that price... With her dress for Senior Prom, the stores thought things out better (for them) and placed higher priced dresses beside the dresses with a more modest price. Pretty found one she really liked and was pointing it out to me when I pointed to one hanging a little bit further away from it. Same color and same style but a shimmery fabric. I asked why she wasn't looking at that one and she looked down and told me she had looked at it but it was $100 over the limit I gave her.... So I told her to try that one on and we'd think about it... The too expensive dress is the one she wore to the Prom. She'll only have those two proms and if that's what she really wanted, this dad wasn't telling her no.

The school provided them with a dress code. My daughter chooses the dress she likes. She does not want too much skin to be revealed

@rakski True indeed. I agree. I wonder how women walk or sit in this costume

Was there too much activity that these gowns came in the way?

well for one, she cannot really move freely as the other girls can. It was a struggle to even walk

I wonder why they wore those big gowns. I hope they had a good time anyway.

Did the rules suggest not to war ball-gowns? I wonder why decided to wear those uncomfortable gowns.

@rakski If it was stated in the dress code, I would have sent them back home to change their gown.

Yes, it is clearly stated in the dress code not to wear a ball gown and only a long dress There were few of them wearing ball gowns and boy the struggle I saw in them while walking was making me worry for them that they might not enjoy the party

Lovely girls but you are right. Society expects too much of girls and women.

Some ball gowns can make movement quite difficult. The girls in the photo look very beautiful.

I agree, probably if the ballgown is really fitted for her, it would be much better when she walks
