Could you imagine the reaction of the Treasure Island Police Department officers going to the beach in Florida on Monday trying to wrangle an alligator only to find out that the alligator was a sand sculpture that looked like the real one?
What happened was a concerned citizen called the police to report the sight of a large alligator on the beach.
After one of the police officers tried to poke the tail of the alligator and he found out that the animal was not the real thing, the officer whose name was not mentioned has issued advice to persons who make sand sculptures of animals "To flatten sand sculptures/sandcastles before you leave."
The reason for the advice is because turtle nesting season is in the area,

I wonder which these police would rather wrestle. A murdering scoundrel or, an alligator. Hmm.

@Deepizzaguy .......They both do. I sure wouldn't care to come up against an alligator.

Probably an alligator since an alligator uses instincts compared to a human being.

Glad it wasn’t real. And the artistry of those sand sculptors amazes me to no end!

@Deepizzaguy — they had a show on the Travel Channel that they’d only show during spring break that was a “skills competition” for sand sculptors. Totally mind-boggling.

That is true since the police did not have to deal with a real life alligator this time.

Artists should be more careful what they make as artwork.

I know if I were a police officer having to deal with a practical joke, I would be angry as well.

Wow that's really a lifelike sculpture. I can understand why they thought it was real.

It's always important to consider the impact of our activities on local wildlife and ecosystems, and taking precautions to protect nesting sites is crucial.

It was a very odd story since it is probably the first time I have heard of sand sculptures of an alligator.

I am sure that the police officers involved were both relieved and upset that the alligator was a fake and not the real thing.
