Wooooo Whoooo it started to rain at 8:55 pm. It came down hard for about 10 or so minutes then slowed a little. Now it's 9:38 pm and the rain is gone. It's nice and crispy now but not too crispy. I know some of you have wished my area to get rain and it worked so now I'm wishing warm sunshine for your areas. Hope that sun was listening. It was windy a few days ago when I tried to get another shot of the little orange wildflowers I get so I videoed it, can you see how small those flowers are?
These tiny flowers bloom every year even when we hardly get any rain. I have no idea what they're called but I thought I'd show you how small they are. My ha...

We also needed rain and we got rain. Now it's enough, let the sun come back now. Those flowers are all beautiful. Wildflowers, also the very small ones are all beautiful. Those little flowers are of the Mallow family, native to Arizona (Desert Globemallow)

Those wild flowers that you call look like gladioli

Thanks for that, I will look those up to see if they are the same. No, these are not gladioli, they have a different leaf structure and color plus they do not cluster the same way.

@rebelann They should be in gardens and not treated as wild flowers

Can you see the difference? These plants do not have true green colors and they do not bloom on a single stock like gladioli

Those orange wildflowers are so pretty. I’m not sure I’ve seen any exactly like that.

I wondered if anyone else might have them. I live in the Chihuahuan desert so maybe they're indigenous to this area, I've seen them along the road sides here and there where developers haven't ruined the flora.

Good that you got the rains. Hopefully it would bring down the mercury for you. Did it increase the humidity for you? The flower in the video looks nice!

@rebelann Yes, often rains during Summers increase the humidity. Deserts are not conducive for flower growth.

Yes, it did bring down the mercury for the night and it was a little humid after it stopped raining. Thank you, it is not easy to grow flowers in the desert.

You're right, sometimes we get a whole lot more than we bargained for. The weather peeps claim it'll be in the 100s in our late afternoons here for the next 5 days.

We had sunshine with 25C this afternoon but it rained later this evening. At least I don’t have to water my plants hanging on the balcony.

Oh yay ! The rain dance finally worked! I wish it rained like that all throughout the year (rain, break, rain, break). Lovely hollyhocks . . . all those colors ! I wonder what that desert wildflower is . . . it's quite pretty !

@rebelann I really like those . . . so they are it's a wildflower bush that grows naturally like that ? Right - we don't want too much water down here . It's always either too much or not enough . . . I hope Mother Nature finds a way to balance things again.

@ladyduck found it in her search, it's a Desert Globemallow. I have quite a few of these bush like plants around here. I love it when it rains but I wouldn't want that to happen more than once a month, that's enough to keep all desert plants thriving

Humidity is the one thing that doesn't last here. It's humid while it rains then soon after it stops it's arid once more.
