This is the chair I wrote about the other day, that was in need of renovation. I haven’t done a really thorough job I’m afraid, I mainly just cleaned up the wooden parts and then re-covered the seat, adding a layer of fire-resistant foam in place of the rather nasty padding that was originally there. Not the most professional job ever, but good enough for everyday use don’t you think? All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2023.

Definitely good enough for everyday use. Cool fabric choice too. Now all you have to do is all the rest of them.

Yes, this is why I just don't have the time to completely strip and re-polish all the wood! And thanks. I like the fabric, I had my eye on it every time I went to the shop until finally I had a use for it

Thank you. I know it could look like new if I stripped all the wood and polished it up again from the bare wood, but I just have too many things to deal with!

@Fleura It looks good enough without stripping all the wood, it takes time and it's a hard work (with a lot of dust).

Thank you, it's more comfortable too, and warmer (the old cover material was cold to sit on).

Thanks! I know I could have done a much better job on the wood, if I had more patience.

@Fleura Sometimes a little "rustic" look is what makes it look good. IMO.

The chair looks really good, though. You aren't a professional restoration specialist... so why are you worried about it looking "professional"?
