Hubs said yesterday afternoon that he feels a tiny bit better. There is no rain in the forecast for the next seven days; so hubby's cousin is coming over to water our new plants. She is coming over next Tuesday for her regular housekeeping duties and will water them again then. If you are in the US, what are your plans for this long weekend? Breakfast - Cinnamon oatmeal bar Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Pork loin, scalloped potatoes, spinach, grapes Dessert/Snack - Orange/cranberry muffin Dinner - Swiss cheese/turkey roll-ups What did you eat yesterday? Photo Credit: Mine - Another view in the Curry Mansion Inn (oldest house in Key West, Florida)

I have always been a sucker for that old look. Never been much of a fan of contemporary. If I had a house that suited it, it would be filled with a look from an earlier time. I like a lot of wood and stone and stuff like that. My dream house would be quite "rustic."

Curry Mansion has one of those big, ornate carved wood staircases at the entrance.

@porwest Yes, and if you want quality that is like what is in the old houses, you will pay through the nose.

@LindaOHio Oh man, I love those. They just don't make 'em like they used to. I saw a virtual mansion today and everyone was raving about how nice it was. I saw blah. Just no character or anything that stuck out. Rather boring. It's a shame even with some of these new homes few people enjoy all this character and architecture and wood and all the stuff that made old houses so unique and great. I almost want to say everything today looks so "industrial." It's the best word I can come up with for it.

I have no plans except to stay home. If I lived closer to the cemetary I'd visit mom and dad's grave, mom was buried on top of dad.

I'm guessing about 30 miles but to get there I'd have to use city streets.

Best to stay off the busy roads. My hubs keeps saying that he should visit his mom and dad's grave. How far is the cemetery?

@rebelann That's about as far as my hubby's parents' graves are. We have to use the freeway most of the way.

Glad your hubby is starting to feel better! I’m staying home this weekend. I’m not going out on the road with those lunatics. I had chicken taco salad…it wasn’t intentional, but Chuy’s was the first restaurant I passed after the VA appointment. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. ) I had a bowl of my infamous potato soup (augmented with rice, broccoli, and cheese) for dinner.

I am not in the US but Monday is also a Holiday in Europe, it's Pentecost. The roads are crowded and we stay home.

@LindaOHio People come her from Germany and the north of Switzerland. They have to go through the Gotthard Tunnel. The line waiting to cross was 15 miles long last Saturday. No way that we go around.

Why is this a long weekend? We never have plans. The National Forecast shows no rain in the next seven days. I'll post the regional forecast in this box. Usually, the regional forecast is closer to what we actually get. I ate a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit for breakfast, a small bowl of Vanilla Bean ice cream for lunch and ate beef taquitos for supper last night. Enjoy your day. Screenshot is mine.

I don't have anything planned for the long weekend. I'm kind of glad because I think just about everyone is going to be out and about.

I am so happy that he is feeling better. Of course it took you numerous unanswered calls to the doctor's office for this to happen.

Actually he said he's feeling no better today. It's probably going to take another week for him to really start feeling better. They told us he'd be "sore" for 7 days. Ha! It will be 2 weeks on Thursday.
