Facing Reality

This picture is in such contrast to the photos I have been posting about my life in Latvia. I went to a rooftop restaurant with my stepdaughter Mara. At least you can see the lovely view however, what I realized was that this photo showed the heartache I was feeling. The colors are gone, the smile has disappeared, and there I am the raven who shouted Never more! This was taken during the time my house was on sale and we were riding around and doing stuff so that the real estate people could show the house and I would not get underfoot. Mara and I went to many places to spend some time away but it was no longer really fun. What brought this on? Well first of all I heard the one song that perfectly reflects this time “Those Were the Days” and second I found this photo and the change was so great it even surprised me.

@AmbiePam I was born and raised in the US. After I sold the big old house there I figured my only option was returning to the US, My best friend from the 6th grade on had an apartment I could rent so I headed for Florida. However, if I had been advised about how well I could do there with my SS and a calmer life I would have found an apartment there but now I no longer have the finances to ever go back again.

Yes, I can see the big difference in this photo from the photo you posted about Latvia. This scene is beautiful too but nothing compares to the beauty of nature.

@1creekgirl I have been settled into an every day routine now that finding this photo was kind of a surprise to me because then I really had not idea what I was actually feeling.

@CarolDM you are so right. You know when I think about it now I really don't even remember what I did with all my clothes. I did not want to ship too much over so I did give a lot away.
