I just had another visit from a TV technician.

My TV remote goes beserk very often. So today, again, I called the service and they sent a technician.
I now tell the providers that I´m bedridden as I am paying for the technicians that come and check it.
Today a young Venezuelan came and found everything difficult to fix. As I was very hungery, I invited him first to a cup of coffee and then added scrambled eggs and toasts.
So after we had eated and I had talked a lot with him about Venezuela, he decided that he´d change for free some very old devices I had. He also decided to bring down the whole internet system as I did not use anything in the second floor. Now I have a white thingie here and he told me not to let any other technitians take it away from me. I told him that nothing would leave this house.
And I started to watch a movie at Netflix apparently about a young jew whose mother wanted an arranged marriage for him. I´m off to see that, friends.
See you later.

Kindness begets kindness. It was pretty obvious he loved the food and your company.

It seems that here they could have trouble too. But we are not telling anyone.

@AmbiePam I did not even talk much to his supervisor when he handed me the phone. Towards the man in the phone I played dumb and said that I knew nothing but that I hoped I´d have everything right as I was paying for the service. All while I was talking to my friend while I was frying some rice

I dislike having issues with cable or the internet. I am lucky, however, because I do pay a few dollars on my bill each month for free technicians if they have to come out. It's worth it to me to have this.
Enjoy your movie.

Repair-people here aren't allowed to accept anything from a customer as that's considered a "bribe" and they can get fired for accepting whatever is offered.
I'm glad that a nice repairman came and took care of the problems you were having.

I pay th company to fix everything there is to fix for free. So there is no chance of bribing anyone. But anyway, I´m not telling anyone about this. There´s no need at all.

@marguicha That sounds good. We pay for support but that doesn't mean we will actually get it.

I thought that he was a dear. But from what he told me when I thanked him, it seems that he is not usually treated nicely by the people owners of the TVs he fixes.

@marguicha The reason he gets treated badly by most people. The company runs an inferior service that breaks down often. When the technician comes to fix it, they blame HIM for those things! The technician is not to blame for that shoddy television service, it's not his fault!

Isn't that great that the young man went to so much trouble for you - but you also were very kind to him.

@marguicha That was nice if you to offer him food and drink. Our maintenance people aren’t allowed to accept food or drink. They rush from one job to another.
