My Teddy bear´s story.

Many many years ago, my eldest daughter gave me my Teddy bear. In Spanish, it is a word game with the last name of my husband. I had just become a widow and my daughter gave it to me so that it would keep me company.
Time went by and my granddaughter once tore off the necktie and for about 2 years the necktie was on the chest of drawers and the Teddy bear was there, naked, looking at me.
Once I took a needle and sewed the necktie again. And as I touched it, I discovered that it was very disty. And I wondered how could I clean ity. I remembered that several of the times that I had tried to wash pillows they had ended up in a garbage can.
Today I was cleaning up the chest of drawers. I cleaned every photo and every small box. The only dirty thing left there was the Teddy bear.
So I told it to behave as I was going to give it a bath. And I placed it alone in the washing machine. I was dreading what would happen yet understanding that I could not have a 20 year old dirty Teddy bear.
I just took it out. It was better than new

Teddy bear is sitting in the bathroom rack getting dry. I had forgotten that it is yellow as a newborn chicken. The necktie is bright red.
I am happy.

@DaddyEvil I first thought about placing it in a net bag but then I forgot.

@marguicha Every few years I put our babies in net bags and wash them... They've always survived being cleaned.

I still have my Teddy Bear from my early childhood. That and a little wool blanket is all I have. But I do love them. Take a picture of yours tomorrow when it’s dry so we can wave to him!

I´ll try to do it. Right now, as usual, I´m having problems with the laptop.

I understand tech issues can be a problem, for sure. My son is an IT engineer, and he has always kept me in a working computer, etc. Over the years, I have tried to learn some things from him, I actually have. I'm no expert, for sure. But I do understand a lot more about them then I used to.

@MarieCoyle The problem is that technology changes too fast.

I was very much afraid that it would be the end of it. But as I am cleaning and giving away, it was now or never.

@LadyDuck It happened to me yesterday too. It was either a wash or have to throw it away. I´m very glad he survived.

@marguicha I was concerned the first time, but it was dirty when I moved it here from Monte Carlo. There was a lot more pollution there.

I cherished my doll and I gave it to my daughters when they were small. They destroyed it in a week.

It is now here, in my bedroom. I even place a necklace that Dixie brought me from Spain. In his neck, it looks like one of those chivalry orders they have in some countries.

Glad he made it out alive and not in pieces. My mother once thought she could wash a throw blanket and she shredded it. I try to make sure she doesn't wash anything that can't be washing regularly.

He is as good as new. Only better because I had forgotten his real color.

That's great that you were able to wash the bear and it didn't come to any harm.
