Not Enough Time

How many hours a day do you spend watching television or on your laptop or smartphone - not for work but entertainment.? I remember years ago when l first got cable and was told that over 100 channels were available for my use. My first thought was - where would l find the time to go through 100 channels and l am a working person. I couldn't deal with it. These days the temptation is much more. With a smartphone, everything you want is just a click away, and you can have most of what you want on television too. How do you manage the time you spend online and watching television? Even if you are an outdoors person, you can take your laptop or smartphone. Pixabay image.

I watched more tv, movie app, yt these days that I did when I was younger. I work from home. When I'm doing a project, I multi task. I cannot finish a project without watching Netflix. When I'm working at my desk, I watch movies or series on my iPad or laptop either appletv or HBO. When I'm crocheting in bed, I watch Netflix on my tv. But when I'm outside, I never watch anything even though my phone has an unlimited data.

When l am on mylot at night l watch a movie at the same time. I find that l must multi task during the day as well. When l go to sleep at night l like to know that my day has been a productive one.

@Kandae11 I get sick when I don't have a productive day. I would feel guilty for being useless.

@Kandae11 I know that I can get more channels that way. I just have to take the time to figure out how to set it up.

I only watch shows I choose on streaming subscriptions and I have not watched any of it on my phone plus I do not have a laptop. My desk top computer is used to access sites like Mylot or Facebook or my email.

I don't watch things on my phone or computer. I stream things on my TV and it can be anywhere from 6 to 4 hours a day just depending on what I'm doing. A lot of time its on as a background sound and I'm not really watching it. I usually need something on when I'm typing up a book or cleaning.

@Kandae11 We have several alex around the house I can watch whatever whenever I want but usually they are more for music in our house. There is a TV in the kitchen for when I'm doing things that aren't cooking I can watch it from there but the kids usually do. Most of the time it's not something I'm interested in watching that is why its on in the background if it's something I want to see I will sit down and watch it.

I don't really use my phone much but I do have the tv on a good portion of the day. It's great background for me while I do whatever. Actual watching is way less than actual time the tv is on.

@Kandae11 Nobody needs that many channels but that’s the lowest priced package, with internet, tv and land line. I’m looking for internet only. I can get free tv shows.

Wow! Over 800, that's mind boggling.

Well, I'm not quite sure. I keep my television on quite a lot when I'm not at all watching it. Keeping it on blocks out the noise of what is going on outside my apartment. It helps keep my dog from barking, because at least nothing on television makes her bark.

Thats what l do too. When l am around my television is always on even though l am not watching it. It does help to block out some annoying outdoor sounds.

@Kandae11 So true! And I have found that as I get older I need to be up and moving more than ever. If I sit too long the muscles start tightening up and the joints start creaking.

I watched my first movie on my cell phone. And it was interesting and fun. So far I've seen two movies on the computer. Thanks for the reminder I can find more movies. I don't have a TV, so I don't know what's out. But this is perfect while I'm waiting for something or have spare time. I mostly try to make a few bucks

You can look at Youtube movies and movies from other channels on your smartphone or laptop. You can do the same with a smart tv. I schedule how much time l spend on entertainment.
