Do You Prefer a Big Breakfast, Small Breakfast or No Breakfast?

I just finished my breakfast and it's already 11:30am. I've never been one to eat much for breakfast and remember my mom yelling at me to eat something before I ran out of the door to go to school. Usually I start my morning with coffee but don't have my second cup and my breakfast before 11am. My typical breakfast is usually toast with peanut butter or cream cheese and a piece of fruit. I do like breakfast food though so my favorite time to eat it is at dinner. I know there are lots of people who enjoy a big breakfast so are you one of them? What do you usually eat for breakfast?

I usually have oatmeal with milk, hard boiled egg and wheat bread toast. Occasionally, I may have Chinese congee (rice porridge) and fried noodles.

Oh boy have I got an answer for you I generally wake up around 6am then get dressed to go outside with Roscoe, after he's done his duty we come in and I have a cup of coffee. I generally don't break my fast until somewhere tween 11am and 3pm, it'll be the only meal I eat for the day so it's usually fairly hefty and can be anything from smoked salmon to spaghetti.

I could probably skip breakfast but I don't think I'd be able to eat just one meal a day. Don't you get hungry later on in the evening?

@rebelann frozen fruit sounds good. I love fruit I'm not sure where you are in Texas but I've been seeing really bad weather there. Are you anywhere near there?

I would prefer a big breakfast, but I don’t eat a big breakfast. This morning, I had a handful of popcorn just because I have to have food with one of my morning medications. My favorite breakfast, which I have about once a year, is at a local diner called Sunny Side Up. Their Denver omelette with sides of fruit, home fries, and toast makes my whole day. Of course, the toast has to have some of their homemade grape jelly. I love local diners in most cities.

Sometimes we make a big breakfast on the weekends (either Sat or Sun). Pancakes or waffles with bacon and coffee of course. Diners have the best breakfast food.

I would like to have a big breakfast because as they say, it is the most important meal of the day. However, I don't and often I even skip breakfast because I just don't feel hungry. I often eat a lot during dinner, but since I am on weight loss, I will be skipping rice during dinner and I will eat rice only during lunch. I hope I can succeed in my plan.

I hope your weight loss plan works for you. I also don't always feel like eating much earlier in the day but I look forward to a nice dinner every evening. I love potatoes so I try not to eat them every night but it's hard.

We always have a light breakfast, as this is how we grow up in Italy. Our usual breakfast is coffee, toasted bread, butter and jam, a plain Greek yogurt and some berries or a fruit.

My breakfast varies, but it's always small. I don't like to eat a big meal, early in the day. With diabetes, a big meal is forbidden, it makes the glucose level go too high. Supper is the meal that I enjoy a fair amount. I never scrimp, including a few carbs and minimal sugar.

I prefer BIG breakfast because it's the most important meal of the day. My son goes to school so I always cook breakfast. But he only likes few food choices so at times egg is always included for breakfast. With rice, of course. Because rice is the staple food for us Filipinos and especially to my son, rice is life.

Making your son a big breakfast before he goes to school is smart. Gives him plenty of brain power

I understand, everyone has different preferences and routines. It's great that you found a breakfast routine that works for you, and enjoying breakfast food for dinner can be a fun twist. But I eat very light breakfast .

@Marilynda1225 But you know our early-day food habits should be heavy food and ended up the day with dinner with very very light food.

Since I eat around 11am maybe it's more like brunch for me too and not really breakfast.

I know they recommend eating bigger meals earlier in the day and lighter at night but I've never been able to follow that rule of thumb

@Marilynda1225 It depends on your habit of eating. Your gut gets programmed the way you feed it.

I'm not a big breakfast eater unless we're traveling. I usually just have a protein bar or something like that. When we're traveling I might have pancakes, biscuits and sausage gravy or a pastry and cranberry juice..

Although I haven't traveled in quite awhile I do remember liking to eat a big breakfast too. We would usually eat a big breakfast, skip lunch and have a big dinner.

I don't do big breakfast. Its either small or no breakfast at all because most of the times its brunch for me because I sleep late so I wake up late.

I get up on the late side too so that's probably why I don't feel like eating and just enjoy my coffee

It depends on my mood, If I get right down to doing things on the net like my surveys I pass on breakfast but then I have an earlier lunch,

I love a big breakfast because it constitutes a big part of my energy for the day. If I have to eat a light breakfast, I'll have to take a snack maybe 2 or 3 hours before lunch. I eat light at dinner most days. Here in the Philippines, big breakfast usually consists of rice, egg and meat/protein.
