Some people have no manners

So we went to look for stone for the countertop on Thursday and while we were waiting to see the guy (he was with other people when we came) another couple walked in to the yard. The guy told us to go into the office and told the couple he will be with them shortly. They didn’t let him go though and started discussing what they wanted. We went into the office to wait for him. When the guy finally came to discuss things with us they came into the office shortly after and proceeded to discuss things with him again, as if we weren’t even there. No excuse me or anything else was said to us. It’s as if we didn’t exist. And they were there for a while. Once they finally left, the guy apologized and said they were in a hurry. Well, maybe we were in a hurry as well. Yet we waited till he was done with the first people. They should’ve done the same. And if they were actually pressed for time they should’ve come later.

People are so rude these days. Sometimes I'm embarrassed to say I live in the US with so many rude people.

I wonder if these people were Russians or from another Eastern European country. They were Russian-speaking.

@lovebuglena Some foreigners can be really pushy...but so can Americans.

That was very rude of those people indeed. But it was also rude of the employee not to tend to you first.

The guy had to stop them and tell them that they had to wait, period! I know they fear to lose a client, but it's not a reason to favor those with no manners.

That company doesn't need your business.

The issue is not the company but those people. They were rude and inconsiderate in my opinion. If you’re in a rush come back when you have more time. The guy was very nice; maybe that’s why he helped them when he should’ve been with us.

That certainly was rude, and the salesperson was lucky you guys didn't walk out.

He was. I kinda wanted to leave but couldn’t. The place is not by my house and Thursday is only day we can go there. No choice but to wait.

If I were in your shoe, these people will hear something that they do not want to swallow. Since I am not like them, I will just ignore them if the tolerance level is still high.

I wish I had the guts to tell them that we were here first and they should wait just like we did when there was someone before us. And if can’t wait come back another time. But the guy should’ve told them something like that too. He didn’t.

Ugh, I'm sorry that you had to deal with that. I work at a place where most people make appointments, but we reserve specific time slots for walk-ins... if I had a dollar for every time someone without an appointment just barged up to where I was and started unloading about their issue like the people patiently waiting their turns were just there to model proper use of our chairs, I'd be rolling in it. It's a shame the salesman didn't have the spine to park them until it was their turn. So they're in a hurry. So what? That doesn't make their time more valuable than yours, and if they object to waiting that badly they can see about making an appointment for a time when they're not in such a hurry. Geez Louise. ...the fact that I had half a dozen of those tonight is showing, isn't it?

Originally he tried but that didn’t work. They wouldn’t leave his side. And very shortly after he came to the office to work with us they came in to bother him again. And they were very eager to leave a deposit. Even when he insisted they not do that yet till they figure out what they wanna do they wouldn’t leave until they left him a deposit. And they left a big one.

I would have spoken up and let them know they needed to wait their turn. Most people won't argue with me. It's one of the advantages of being 6'3" and over 250#. I would have been nice about it, diplomatic even, but I would have said something to them.

@lovebuglena I used to be like that, but my patience with rude people ran out several years ago.

I couldn't say anything and my husband did not speak up either. We just sat there waiting.

You are so right. They were very rude to act in that manner. I guess it's pretty hard for the shop attendant. He doesn't want to lose a sale but he runs the risk of putting you offside anyway.

He definitely wouldn’t lose the sale because they kept insisting they leave a deposit even when he told them not to. They wrote a check for $1000.

That's true. Some people are jealous too. If you are buying the same thing they are they purposefully interfere so that you can't buy it or can't make the right choice.

That surely can happen. Some people, if they want something they will make sure they get it no matter what.
