Memories of Roses

We had lovely roses blooming beneath the kitchen window. They had their own sweet scent that the breeze blew about the garden. We had red, pink, and white roses in the garden in Riga, Latvia. One time I got the light just right and got a photo of the white rose with sunlight through it. It looked so beautiful and bright that I created a poetic meme using this photo. As if the roses knew we would no longer be there to admire them most of them froze the last winter I lived there since the temps fell to the minuses for two weeks. However, about two of the hardiest survived and my neighbor dug these out in the spring to replant them in his garden to remember his friend Martin and me.

I'm glad your neighbor took the remaining rose bushes to his garden. They'll be loved and cared for there. You never know what the new people in your old house would have done with them. When I couldn't take care of our miniature roses anymore, I dug them up and transplanted them at my nephew's new house. They're still living and beautiful there.

@DaddyEvil I am glad he took them because the new people had two little boys who could have dug up those roses or something and now these people have four children so I know that garden is getting a lot of living,

How nice that the neighbour dug up those two rose bushes. And that's a beautiful photo and lovely meme to go with it.

Thenk you @JudyEv well he knew that once the house got sold new people would have other ideas for the garden and all. I just hope they kept that very large oak tree we loved at the very back of the garden,

This rose is beautiful, often I have the feeling that the plants (and even the objects) know what is going to happen, they are sad and they stop living. I am glad your neighbor saved the last roses.

@RasmaSandra - Often I think what was happening just before something bad happened and I realize that I received "signs" form what was around me.

@LadyDuck you are so right. While Martin was still at home but feeling unwell it rained a good deal and I went out and got some picks of roses with raindrops on the so it seemed like they were crying. Just didn't realize what was going to happen,

Timeless words you have to keep you going my friend. And a beautiful yellow rose. Such a treasured neighbor to take care of your roses. My pink roses have not done well this year.
