I had fun this morning.

I was excited to get to go to church this morning. It was actually a great service, with even some powerful singing. Anyway, when my dad started preaching, he said we all that one relative that is kind of odd, that gets funny looks from people, don’t we? I piped up, “Yes!” Everyone started laughing, and he replied, “I was afraid of that.” 
He also played the song”Pray for the Fish” by Randy Travis, which wasn’t a song I had heard before, and it was pretty amusing. Anyway, afterward I gathered with some friends, and we had a good time. I actually met a few new people too, and one guy in particular was enjoyable to talk to. 
I’m glad I went today, and my heart feels pretty happy. Did you do anything today that made your heart happy? If you didn’t, I understand that too. Tell me about it.

Hi Amber! I don't go to church much but reading about your experience today actually made me happy. You seem to really enjoy church.
I was happy today as my fiancé's mum liked my goodbye present for her. Thankful for the opportunity to meet her on her visit.

Not today, but last night we went on a long drive to a beach we had not visited in a while. We took a long walk along the beach and pier . . . saw the sunset and had a nice seafood dinner. Filled my heart to have a nice family evening getaway .

I asked him after church if he deliberately set me up for the zinger, and he said no, but I had a feeling you might speak up.
That DOES sound like the perfect family night. You say seafood dinner, and I would automatically be hung ho, but a walk on the beach makes it extra special.

Like I said in another comment a few days ago, there is no vacation planned for us anytime soon. So this was a good, much needed break from the norm. The walk was excellent and so was dinner

@AmbiePam We'll not that kind of long day. Just feels that way because I slept late and didn't get a lot accomplished when I wanted.

I didn't do anything yesterday that made my heart happy. But today, Monday, I will go out and have fun with my family. I hope the weather cooperates coz it will surely make me happy.

Glad you had such an enjoyable time at church. Might I ask what denomination are you? I was raised Lutheran and mostly all the churches around here are Greek Orthodox so I do my praying at home, I just wrote up a lot of articles so tomorrow I can post and do my blogging,

Well yes, I was happy swimming, until I got invaded.. I thought about church today, but as usual talked myself out of it. Glad you had a great time.

That sounds wonderful, I am happy for you that you had this today.
I had that feeling yesterday, when my hubby and I went out to a little Italian place for pizza on their patio.
It was fun, we laughed and had a great time together. We were both happy.

@ambiepam I walked to Church this morning, 45 minutes tramping through field and woods and along the river. Then 45 minutes to get back. And your father is correct - we all have at least one odd person in the family and if you think you don't then you're probably it.

@AmbiePam I feel pretty good. Dale and Robert went fishing this morning and Rob's coming for lunch. I have a beef roast, Bob Evans mashed potatoes, and I'll make homemade gravy, fried okra and sweet tea.

I'm glad you went to church. I love what your father said when you piped up. I'm glad I'm not the only one to respond to sermon bits.

I'm glad you enjoyed the fellowship afterward.
Yes, I had a good day yesterday. After church, I went to a birthday party for a wonderful friend who turned 74. It was a lot of fun.
