We had friends around the other evening for a small celebration for my birthday. We had been at an endurance ride overnight so we had takeaway pizza and I made an apple sponge affair which we enjoyed with custard and cream. Both couples are from the village and one couple we known for around 30 years. They now live about ten doors up from our house. They were kind enough to give me this little plant which is just about to flower plus two small tubes of hand lotion. On Friday, we go away to house-sit for nearly three weeks but I might just take the little plant with me rather than leave it to take its chance outdoors. I can’t wait to see it flower.

It might be one of the kalanjoe family but I'm not sure. I'll take a photo of the flowers if we're here but we might be away when it flowers.

@changjiangzhibin89 Thanks for that as I've been saying I thought it was of the kalanchoe family.

Thanks for that. Do the kalanjoes belong to that too or are they something completely different?

@JudyEv I placed outside two succulent plants two years ago and they are doing very well without and of care, I was surprised.

@JudyEv Actually you were right the first time, it was cool and damp! We are having a lot of wet weather so far this summer. Not a great summer but much better than the alternative such as experienced by Greece!

I was going to say I hope you had nice weather camping thinking 'I hope it didn't rain' but maybe it was more a case of 'I hope it wasn't too hot'! Thanks for the good wishes.

I think it might be one of the kalanjoe family. There are dozens of them so I feel pretty safe putting that forward.
