10 August - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good afternoon from sunny, warm, Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. Today is a fantastic day.
I'm thankful I got up when I did this morning. I finished everything I needed to do before my friend showed up.
I'm thankful I got the laundry done early this morning and put away before I left.
I'm thankful for the trip to Door County. We went to two bookstores. I didn't know what to expect. The first bookstore we went to is called Other World Books. It's the oldest bookstore in Sturgeon Bay. I asked him if he dealt with local authors. He said yes and asked me what I had. He paid me for one each of all eight copies of my books. I was blown over. There is also a book signing that I will be part of in November. Then we went to another bookstore in Algoma, not far from Sturgeon Bay, and she bought and paid for six books. I didn't have all eight copies left. So, she took one of each of the six titles.
I'm thankful for the wonderful lunch at a small cafe down the street from the first bookstore. It was also in Algoma where I took the picture above.
I'm thankful for my friend, Debbie, who took me to Sturgeon Bay and Algoma. While there I also saw a cruise ship on the Bay. I've never seen one in person before. So, it was a special day.
I'm thankful Alexa just notified me that my mattress topper is in. No more sleeping in the recliner. 
I will need to go to the laundromat to get it fluffed up before I put it on my bed.

How nice to hear of your positive interaction with the bookstore people. Yahoo! Sounds like an interesting outing with a nice friend.
Enjoy your new mattress. We get new beds and mattresses as soon as my grandson feels like lugging them upstairs and setting them both up.

I'm thankful my husband made time to go downstairs and get me some breakfast before he headed home to babysit the crew installing our AC. Once he got started, he realized how important it was that Chilly bug is here with me at Homewood, instead of at home. He doesn't like loud noises and we were worried he'd hurt himself if stuff started to scare him. So I'm thankful he seems fine here with me. I'm giving him free rein over the room, but he wants to stay in the bedroom. I'm thankful that he seems to like it here this time. He's not meowing all the time, and he's quiet.

I am thankful for my conversation with my health doctor this afternoon where she offered me help in finding transportation from a doctor appointment if I am stranded by any chance in the future.

@just4him The mental doctor is priceless is assisting get through my troubles finding transportation from my home to the appointments since the bus in my area does not go there.

That’s wonderful, Valerie! How great that your books will get the extra exposure. 
I’m thankful there were no lines at the pharmacies today when I had to go, and that it wasn’t that hot when I got groceries. In addition, some of my free items came today, and it was nice to get them.

It sounds like you had a great day! Maybe you should try some Christian bookstores in Milwaukee some day.You may get known all over Wisconsin. Today I am thankful I haven't had much of an appetite so consquently, I haven't eaten that much.
