Toodyay - place of mist

Today, while looking up something else, I came across the meaning of Toodyay. This is the town that has the Christmas shop and is only about 20 minutes from here.
Toodyay means ‘mist’ and it’s very appropriate for the area as we’ve had misty mornings for the majority of time we’ve been house-sitting. Mostly, mist in the morning means a nice fine day and so it has proved to be today. It’s sunny and warm in the sun but towards evening the cold will come in.
I thought I’d shown this photo before but maybe it was one of the ones which wouldn’t load. It shows two of the three horses coming in for their morning hay-net.

Things are terrible almost everywhere.
We had some very heavy rainfall days followed by just 3 to 4 main rains day over the whole month.
There are places in Northern Hills that have faced heavy rains, landslides, flooding and even deaths.
A very hard situation to handle!!

After having so many humid and testing days since last 12 to 13 days and just some rains in between, mild cold, must or even slight fog sound heavenly.
But well, I am not very fond of 2 to 4 C temperatures plus heavy fog.
Mild winters with low pollution are what I like.
Too-d-yay : Remembering this would need some practice indeed !!
I just thought if this place hosts a cricket match then the headlines would be :
"Today we have a match in Too-d-yay..."
Well, quite interesting!!

My comment seems to have disappeared. Toodyay is actually pronounced 'Too - jay' which is a bit easier.
