We are still expecting the awful high temperatures all week. It is hotter than I ever remember it being.
Summer of 1980 we had 41 days in a row over 100, but usually no higher than 104.
It has been dry, but today I woke up to deep fog. I could smell the moisture before I opened the door.
All afternoon recesses at school will be indoor recesses. It is that bad.
I am dressed, lunch is packed. I have a few things I need to do then out the door in about ten minutes.

The less we move around the cooler I feel. The bus ride in the afternoon is bad, though. No a/c.

@GardenGerty I used to hate to ride the bus, summer and winter. I get bus sick. Definitely no AC back then.

@GardenGerty The temperature dropped here yesterday. We have been the lucky ones here, all around us the hail caused severe damages.

For us it was mid June through part of August, now it's finally cooled down to the 90s. I doubt anyplace was spared the horrific heat of these past 3 months.
The place I really feel for is Phoenix AZ, their famous cacti were dying from the heat they were getting

I'm glad they're keeping the kids inside for recess in the afternoons. It's just too hot even for kids to be out in it.

I am trying to remember to enjoy lots of drinks. I have access to an ice machine as well.
