Monday Morning Brief and Weekend Update

Good morning from hazy, sunny, Green Bay, Wisconsin. If you saw the Packers-Patriots game on Saturday, you know what happened. They suspended the game because one of the Patriots was injured during a play. He was unconscious on the field and taken to the hospital. He's okay and returned to his team. It was a scary situation. I saw players from both teams praying on the field for the injured player. Sunday was a good day. I finished the Harry Potter series with the Deathly Hollows and then went to Peacock for my third film, The Last Legion. I fully recommend this film starring Colin Firth. Plans for today include exercise, taking care of Missy, working on a book, and working on notifications. For now, the notifications are done. It's time to get dressed, weigh myself, and eat. I was up early, so no doubt there's a nap in my day too. How is your day going? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. I took sunset pictures on Saturday.

I'm really glad to hear that the Patriots player who got injured during the game is ok. I' always looking for a good movie so I'm going to put The Last Legion on my list. Hope you enjoy your day! Nothing much going on here today. The weekend was busy and I'm sure there's a nap with my name on it today too

Yes, it's good to know he's okay. Good movies are hard to find these days. This one is really good. Good acting, and a good storyline. I hope you like it. If you like movies about the Roman Empire era, you'll like it.

I am glad that the player recovered and he is back with his team. I never read Harry Potter.

@just4him - I do not know why, but I have never been interested in reading Harry Potter. I remember that the previous boyfriend of my niece loved the movies. She told me that she found the movies boring.

Harry Potter has been around since 1997 when the first book was published and has been in film since 1999. As of February, of this year, the series sold over 600 million copies, making it the best best-selling series in history. I'm glad he's recovered too.

@LadyDuck That's interesting she found them boring. When they first came out, my church told everyone not to read the books or go to the movies. I bought into that hype until my son challenged me. He had just moved in with me and had all the movies. I always take a challenge. I watched the first one and was hooked. I couldn't understand why the church told everyone not to read them or watch the movies. Though the flimsy idea that it has to do with witchcraft had a lot to do with it. It's easy to naysay a movie or book when you don't read it and only know it for the thing it projects. It's harder to naysay a book or movie when you've seen it. I found the underlying theme in the books and movies was not about witchcraft and wizardry. It's about friendship, loyalty, and bullying. With bullying being the major theme in children's school lives, I can see how it would be a big hit with kids. The series is a children's series, even though young and old people read and watch them.

I did not see the game as I no longer watch football, but I did briefly read about it and was wondering since when do they cancel games due to injuries? Is this something new? Will the NFL be canceling games during the regular season due to injuries? Maybe they can change the name of the league to National Flag Football League (NFFL), they might avoid injuries that way.

This was a serious injury. The coaches conferred and decided to suspend the game. I heard about another game that got suspended. It's player safety first, so I'm sure that if another serious injury happened in the regular season, they would suspend the game.

@just4him remember when they played for the love of the game, injured or not? Now it is all about the money. Players spending the whole game crying about everything wanting a penalty on every play, wasting time with their political BS, taking themselves out of the game because they stubbed a toe. For me it has become unwatchable and a complete waste of my time. I have not watched a game in years. If it was up to me, they could just cancel all the games.

@Bensen32 I understand why you don't watch football. I enjoy watching the Packers' games. I don't watch all the games.

@Nakitakona It's very different. Soccer is played in warmer weather in shorts and tops. Football is played in colder weather and is an aggressive game requiring players to wear pads under their uniforms and helmets to protect their heads. Soccer players aren't allowed to carry the ball. They bounce the ball off their body parts including their head. The ball is kicked into the goal. There's no comparison between the two games.

@just4him I see it's a football game. Ours is soccer. How does it differ? No idea. I'm confused for others they call it soccer-football.

It's going well Thanks, have only been up for about an hour though. I saw the HP films, but never made it past a few chapters in Chamber of Secrets. My nephew read the whole series though as a youngster.

Yesterday I went to Walmart to get groceries and cat food. One of the cats is not eating the Turkey wet food so I decided to get some more food for her. I also ordered a clean out bag from Thread Up. I have some clothes that don't fit anymore. I got those together today and some of my uncle's shoes and clothes that are going to be taken to a men's home.
