Today’s shenanigans

We are house-sitting and part of the job description includes keeping an eye on small mob of ewes and lambs. I woke up this morning to hear a ewe and lamb calling back and forth. Two hours later, they were still at it so we walked up to see if something was wrong. Sure enough, the lamb had managed to get through to the next paddock. The problem was – how to get it back. These are the sheep that won’t take no for an answer so simply opening a gate wide for the lamb was fraught with difficulties. The problem was compounded by two horses hanging over the fence near the gate taking a very keen interest in proceedings. After half an hour of to-ing and fro-ing, we got the lamb back with its relieved mother. The folks get home about 6pm tomorrow. Let’s hope we have a very boring, dull day until then.

@LadyDuck Thanks. We're home again now and glad to be here. We had another inquiry for a house-sit at the end of November but she has to get back with more details.

Trying to herd one lamb anywhere is a huge task. By the time we finally reunited them, the poor little thing was puffing.

@JudyEv I do love this setup though. It will shift my person to being an introvert.

If you're house-sitting, a boring day is a good one.

Animals/pets can always get themselves out but can't get themselves back in again.

They have indeed. It seemed it would be a simple task but it's been a bit more challenging than we bargained on.

Chasing sheep, even baby ones, sounds like a great way to fall asleep!

Baby ones are extremely fast and tricky and more likely to give a person nightmares!!
