Movie Review - 80 for Brady

Released in 2023, "80 for Brady" is loosely based on a true story about 4 elderly women who are obsessed with the New England Patriots and QuarterbackTom Brady. The New England Patriots are going to the Superbowl in 2017; and the ladies decide that they want to attend. They win tickets by sharing stories about what big Patriot fans they are. The movie revolves around the ladies' desire to attend the Superbowl. The movie is produced by Tom Brady and stars Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field as the elderly ladies. Of note, Harry Hamlin and Guy Fieri also appear. **In actuality, there were 5 elderly ladies in the "Over 80 for Brady Club". Claire has passed away, Anita and Pat live in assisted-living facilities and Betty and Elaine still call each other and get together for Patriot games, even though Tom Brady has moved on. The movie is a fun romp; but I was a bit put off by the many hard-to-believe scenarios that took place. I did a little research and found conflicting stories: One said that the ladies did indeed attend the Superbowl; and the other said that it was all fabrication; and the ladies DID NOT attend the Superbowl. As a Miami Dolphins fan, I have never liked the Patriots, and probably never will. I was never a fan of Tom Brady (I was pissed off when he went to Tampa Bay), and so I never had any interest in watching this movie. I’m sure it was a decent movie, I just had no interest in seeing it.

We watch the Patriots sometimes just to see Bill Bilichick. He used to coach the Cleveland Browns.

@LindaOHio It is in my watchlist. I have heard about this movie recently from our another Mylotter.. I don't remember.. The plot of the story sounds interesting As usual image not shown.

I remember NBC doing a story on the real ladies, but I don’t remember what they said about the Super Bowl. I loved their spunky attitudes though.

often they say that a movie is 'based on a true story' because that has more appeal, but in fact it's just a lie, or the link is extremely flimsy.

I heard of the movie, but haven't seen it. Movies having to do with sports have never really been my thing, except for Remember the Titans, but we watched that in school. I may see this if I can find it for free sometime.
