I think I got this right- a turret is a tower that does NOT go all the way from attic to ground. A tower is the rounded part of the building that DOES go all the way from attic to ground. I believe it was a turret that I played in when I lived in Saint Paul. We bought our current house about five years ago. Hubby had someone convert a bedroom into an upstairs bathroom. Yesterday we finished converting its closet into a square hide away. I am finding it to be a cozy spot to write in. It had been a depot for boxes and a tub. No more. Autumn wind and rain spats outside. Inside another Outlander chapter. "A flurry of wool."

I'm glad you can change the house the way you and your hubby want/need. We're still getting temps for June/July here: mid to high 80s with overnights dropping from 65F to 72F. This doesn't feel like Fall yet.

Your hideaway sounds very nice. I used to have a little cubby in the basement of what is now my ex's home. I made the mistake of painting it too dark. It was even darker than Pepto meds. Ugh! I couldn't live in there for long. It housed my writing stuff but not me for long.

We don't have an extra square inch in our home. It's so cluttered with "stuff". Need to get back to downsizing. Your little area sounds cozy for sure. Have a good weekend.
