Was Hoping to Get Here Earlier

I was hoping to hop on earlier and make a post or two, but that didn't happen!
My husband had a doctor's appointment this afternoon and I rode with him. He had a good 6 month check up with his diabetic doctor and doesn't have to go back for another 6 months. His AC1 was down and that was good news. However, he put on a little weight.
We left the house a bit early today to go by Wildlife and Fisheries and get our fishing and hunting license for the state of Louisiana. Timing was good and there was only one other person in line before us other than the one being waited on. We were in and out of there in 15-20 minutes.

Everything was quiet here... I did some cleaning and slept most of the day.

@DaddyEvil I just finished up in my kitchen. It will be a mess when I get home tomorrow with the man staying at home. Some things never change!

@kareng Well, I'm not the one doing the scheduling. The hospital, where the CaT scan is, is trying to work things out with the Health Center, who referred me and also has a new computer/scheduling/whatever system.

@kareng - I only walk to our newsstand in Italy, because we do not find here those Italian magazines. The prices in Italy used to be cheaper, now there is not a big difference. I prefer to buy locally, if there is a problem I can bring back and I am refunded with no questions.

You gonna do some hunting this season?
I used to be an avid hunter. These days I just don’t seem to have the time. But when I was driving last night, I saw a dozen deer grazing on the side of the road and it triggered that hunting nostalgia in me. Maybe I can squeeze in a weekend of hunting this year.

We might! There was no extra charge for adding it to the license so I told my hubby to add it! I used to got hunting with my uncle when I was little. I wouldn't mind some venison in the freezer!! We will be getting our driver's license here in MS within the next month so then can get hunting and fishing up here too. So one year in both LA and MS.

The cost varies by state. We are senior citizens so get a discounted rate. You used to could get a lifetime license here for $100. Of course when we went to get that, the price had gone up to $500! Now we just get the annual senior license which is only $5 for the whole year. It covers freshwater, saltwater, brackish and hunting.

He's gonna be real good when he finishes up the boat trailer. He rebuilt the boat motor in the last few months and replaced everything that needed replacing on the boat. Next week new tires on the boat trailer and we should be ready to go fishing!!

That's great news to hear that your husband got his A1C down and that you zipped in and out getting your Fishing and Hunting license. Sounds like everything went smoothly.
