Goodwill Store Find

Thursday on the way home from my hubby's doctor appointment he had to stop at Home Depot. I remembered that there was a Goodwill Store right down the road and asked to stop in there real quick. He agreed. I actually found a few things that would work in the antique store booth. I was surprised. The best thing I found was a Longaberger Pottery Tea Pot! I paid $3.99 for it. If you recognize the name Longaberger, you know they made high quality baskets. I didn't know they made pottery too! When I got home I looked up the teapot and found that it retails for $69.99! There is another version that is about one inch taller that retails for $79.99. Amazing how that one inch amounts to $10! Are you familiar with Longaberger baskets or pottery?

Not really, but I'm not complaining either. a find is a find so take what you can get.

@AmbiePam I could see us shopping daily. It would probably get to where we needed a storage building to put all the goodies in. Ha!!

Yes, I sold a Longaberger coat rack for slightly over 20 bucks I got for free. A former friend of mine, had a lot of the baskets.

@kareng Maybe, but I wanted to get rid of it. People around here don't typically pay big bucks for things, and it was too large to mess around with eBay or some such. It wasn't a tall rack, but the long rack with hooks

I'm not too familiar with the Longaberger brand, but of course I am not too educated on some aspects of antiques. I have some kind of sixth sense that is built into me that I can touch things and know they are valuable. Teddy bears and other stuffed animals are a different matter, I can pick up a stuffed animal and almost immediately tell a person how much the animal is worth on the market and how much they can expect to get for it. I can't get over how much an inch or ten extra kleenex can make a difference in price. I was shopping for kleenex today and 10 Kleenexes increased the price of the box by a dollar. Sorry, it isn't worth a buck for ten pieces of paper to wipe my nose. Two boxes that would net me 30 extra kleenex would cost 50 cents less than the large box. Guess which box I bought two of.... Hope your tea pot sells quickly. I'm going to do some research and see what they're like...who knows, I might have a bear residing in one!

What a cool gift you have!! You have to look at all labels today! I have seen larger quantities of the very same product and brand cost less than the smaller one. It's crazy!! Thank you!!

Me too! When I raised parrots there was another breeder who collected them. I'm like...why do you need so many baskets???

@LindaOHio She felt a little better today. Still very tired, but that is to be expected. She slept most of the day on and off. That too is good. Thanks for asking!

No, I am not familiar, but glad to know you found it. My mom always buy things that we need at home, she is the queen of the house and of the kitchen, she'll tell us what she needs and find it online and pay for it. Heheheh. thanks you for sharing and God bless.
