A pincushion from the Christmas Fair

Our lifestyle village held a Christmas Fair morning today. The craft group members displayed their various treasures and had a lot of things for sale. There were also some treasures on display including some really lovely quilts, knitting, woodwork and jewellery. I didn’t really need anything but you do feel you should support the people so I bought a few small items. One was this cute little pincushion. It might make a nice gift if I ever need something small for someone.

Uhm... I know it gets hot there but does thinking of Christmas make it feel cooler?

@JudyEv I remember a few Christmases where we played outside in shirts instead of coats but not many... Most of the time we had deep snow at Christmastime.

No. Luckily for us Christmas has always been hot so it's quite normal.

@DaddyEvil When I was a child, all Christmas cards showed snowy scenes. Then some started appearing with Australian icons and beach scenes, etc.

That pin cushion is really cute. I bought some homemade ornaments last year from a fair and the craft show will be here in November.

There were some nice ornaments at these stalls too but I'm trying to declutter rather than amass more things. I try to buy stuff I can use.

This is so cute, it looks like a strawberry. I still use the one I crafted in school, it looks like a heart.

@JudyEv A mouse is surely also cute. I also had one like a tomato, I wonder where it is now.

I just went to a fall festival and bought a small jar of pumpkin, apple butter. It was really good but I also did it to support the venders. They have to pay for their booths. I noticed some missing from last year, i'm thinking funds were to tight for them to do it this year. your pin cushion is adorable

I like it when there are home-made preserves of some sort that can be eaten and don't become gatherers of dust.

I might keep it for myself. Sometimes they stuff them with steel wool which stops the pins from rusting.

Or you could use it as a Christmas tree ornament.

I prefer to buy jams or chutneys as they don't clutter up your cupboards but I did like this.

It's so like a strawberry. I suppose it might be simple to do but such things really impress me.
