Can sitting in the car be considered a hobby?

I just don't get it.
What's so enjoyable about sitting in the car for a long time?
Hubby loves to do that.
Before coming into the house when he comes home from work...
After dinner.
After breakfast on his day off.
To me it seems like it's a hobby of his. 
Sure he doesn't just sit there doing nothing.
He listens to the radio or is on social media on his phone.
But still...
Why in the car?
He can do the same thing in the house.

@lovebuglena I thought being in the car by himself was what alone time was. Who knows, maybe he really likes the feel of being in a car.

One time we were looking for parking and couldn't find any. Then saw a guy in the car and double parked so we can take his spot. He was just sitting there talking on the phone, not moving anywhere. After a while we gave up and left to look for another spot.

He could be like my husband. He wants that quiet time and space, and doesn't feel he can get it in the house.

I'd have preferred if his private spot was in the house. Maybe the bathroom lol.

Maybe that's just what he likes to do and there isn't another reason for him to do it? IDK... You could just ask him why he sits in the car all the time...

@lovebuglena I sit and read a lot but never in my car unless I'm waiting for an appointment and don't want to go inside whatever business my appointment is at.

He vapes. But he can do that in the house. And he does do it sometimes, even though I don't like it.
