Two of the six books I've designed using Canva

As I shared on my retirement discussion, I started making notebook journals that will be sold on Amazon. The one with the orange background is the second on I made and the one with the autumn tree is the fourth. The first I made, not shown here, has a crocus wreath on the front and a single crocus on the inside. With the third I used a blurry buffalo print that came in black and white, but i changed it to red and black. I've since found better and crisper buffalo prints using various colors. i may use these in the future as a logbook for guys to keep track of info about their fishing and hunting excursions. But since neither my dad nor my husband were hunters I've no clue about what hunters might want to keep track of. Someone suggested that for fishing maybe the favorite lures. My devotional journal just went live recently and I'm in the process of uploading my first medium content book. It is a Thanksgiving activity book for ages 3-5. It will help them with eye-hand coordination. Along with having coloring pages, it will include scissor skills, dot to dot, and dot marker pages. I'm also in the process of building a website using WordPress for my husband. He started a book thirty some years ago and began working on it again after he lost his leg and couldn't work for a while. He's hoping to upload it to KDP sometime next month. It would be nice if I were already retired because then I'd have more time to work on all these projects.

Very interesting... In the fishing journal, you might add a space for what type of fish was caught, the lure used, the weight of the fish and an open area so the person can describe the fight landing the fish and whether they ate the fish or if they simply released it back into the water. Oh, and a space for a photo of the fisherman holding his catch. In a hunting journal, you could have spaces for what the animal was, the size of it, color of the fur, whether they ate it or donated the meat to one of the meat lockers for disadvantaged people. Also, again, a space for a photo of the hunter and his animal. Another suggestion is a book about bird "hunting". There are a lot of people who take photos of the different birds they photograph, the type of bird, where they found it, if it's endangered or not...

Very good suggestions. I could put your name or pen name down as a collaborator and you could make a portion of the profits from those.

@DaddyEvil I might offer it again down the road and possibly pick your brain some more. I know there are a lot of bird watchers everywhere and that was a great idea. I can work on that after I've done what I want for Christmas and the website.

No, I've been here a little bit but not very often. Along with doing these books I also hope to get back into my writing, but that may be a bit further down the road. I will try to get back here more often though.

Real life is more important but hopefully you'll have the chance to visit us at least once a month.

@rebelann week at present I've been here off and on several times thru the day. I need a break periodically from sitting in front of the computer.

I may do that as well. Is that also a print on demand site? I may also do my own website and provide a link to Amazon from there.

They are also fun to do. Once I begin marketing them I expect to do fairly well especially with the holidays coming up.

@MarshaMusselman - When more people will see your books then the sales will increase, I am sure.

Thank you, so so I. I am affiliated with a church in Ohio and I'm sending two ladies there a copy of one not shown here, I also hope I can share them on Facebook. Once I begin actively marketing them I'm hoping to sell more especially for the holidays.

@MarshaMusselman I haven't done anything myself but both of my daughters have Etsy shops and they use Canva all the time to design things. I find it interesting watching them

I'm paying money each month for free images and then I just have to decide what to do next and what images to use. If I worked on them more often I might be able to get one done per week. But I'm also helping my husband get his book done and the website is for him. Also, when I get home from cashiering I usually have something to eat and incredibly I'll nap for a few hours.

Those look wonderful. I'm still working on my family book. I'm retired but always distracted. I hope your books and journals do well.

Once I start marketing them I believe they will do well. I know some people haven't done so well but maybe they only did the bare minimum. I'm trying to pee more work into them.
