You Can't Make It Up

I have been having a hell of a time. Of course, you've probably already read about my screwed-up order at Hardees. My ham that spoiled well before the expiration date from Ruler Foods. Now today we can add McDonald's to the list. No kidding, right? We were just out running around and the wife wanted a snack. I was good. So, we stopped at McDonald's in the drive through and she ordered a McDouble. We get to the window and the woman says, "That'll be $4.91." I was like, "At the intercom you said it was $2.91. It's only a McDouble." She had the wrong ticket up apparently and got the right one for us and we paid. When we got the bag I asked the wife to look inside and make sure the McDouble was in there. "It is," she said. Mind you she does not often order a McDouble. But I do all the time. We're just about to exit the parking lot when she takes it out and the wrapper is yellow. "Wait. Why did they put it in a yellow wrapper?" She opens it and it's a McChicken. "Uh-uh. You have GOT to be kidding me," I said. She knew right away what was going to happen and handed me the bag. I went inside and told the guy, "Hey, I think I got someone else's sandwich," showed him my receipt and he gave no issue. Neither did I. I'm not THAT guy. Apparently it was a complete screwup considering he said, "I'm also going to need a McDouble," implying before I walked in he was also going to need another McChicken. I swear, you can't make it up.

@NJChicaa I have read it. It's BS. I have also worked in fast food. It's BS. I have invested in fast food. It's BS. I have seen the back kitchens of five star restaurants. IT'S BS. It's like those "posh" people who used to tell me, I can't stay in a Super 8. I don't want bed bugs. To which, me having worked in pest control, I would tell people we practically have our own office in five star hotels because they have the WORST bed bug issues of anyone. lol True story. Smoke and mirrors. Perception. And as I said. BS. You want to see the worst kitchen you have ever seen? Go to any top restaurant and go back in their kitchen. The filthiest, dirtiest, most roach infested, rat ridden places you will ever find. I am NOT kidding by the way. I did the best restaurants in Milwaukee and I was HORRIFIED compared to what I saw in a KFC. Let me tell you. And KFCs were some of the DIRTIEST fast food places I ever did services for.

Wellllllllllllllllll. I mean. A lot of those places only hire bodies, not really competent people. At least that's what happens here.

@porwest OMG. I managed a BK and didn't get what these trained professionals demand. LOL. A couple years ago I got into a argument with someone I went to high school with about how the drive thru and line workers at McDonalds near where we went to school in Portland, Oregon deserved $19 an hour because it was SKILLED labor.

@thislittlepennyearns You know, it's like I always say, it's never to belittle anyone when I say, "No, you're not worth that," it is just a fact. If one can be replaced tomorrow and be qualified to do what you do...you're not worth much. So, you get paid for what you are worth and if you want more money...well, you have to be doing something worth more. lol

I crossed out Dunkin´ Donuts from my list after I went to one a couple of months ago they gave me a STALE donut. Shame! It was one of those places where not many people go because it is not near any big street. But if I were them (they are not losing money around the world), I´d have less donuts there or go elsewhere. From that time on my tummy said no to them until forever.

@jstory07 I had never had any problems all around the world with them before. But with food, the first time is the last time for me. We have lots of Dunkin´ Donuts shops here but then I live in a very big city (aroun 5 million people).

There is no Dunki Donuts around here. There is a small business that makes the best donuts at a good price.

I don't really ever eat doughnuts anymore. That lack of a sweet tooth thing. But when I did, I preferred Krispy Kreme. They were always nice and moist and not cakey like so many other doughnuts are. But I never got a stale one. That would be gross.

I joked to the wife when she asked about how it went when I went inside, "You'd never believe it was the same guy who screwed up our order at Hardees the other. Badge said 'new hire.'" lol

This seemed like a complete breakdown. The girl at the pay window had the wrong order pulled up. She did not communicate to the front or back line of the change. Someone got my burger and we got someone's McChicken. And after that they all had to scramble to get it all back on track.

If I would have had to go back I probably would have been much less kind to the staff. Still, not to the extent as some I have seen on social media being entire idiots. At the end of the day, no one is perfect, and people make mistakes, and while I may stand my ground a bit more strongly if it is a regular occurrence, I am still not going to make a fool out of myself OR them.

It was a lucky thing that your wife looked into the bag or you would have gone home with the wrong food, Then it would have become an even bigger problem,

Luckily it did and things got better. At some point I might have lost my marbles and went completely berserk like some of those crazies we see on social media smearing burgers on manager's faces or something. lol "I...said...NO...KETCHUP....you imbecile!"
