I often wonder why it's taken me so damn long to realize all those things I wish I'd known as a young woman. Now that I'm old I'm finally aware of those many things that flew so far over my head back then. I guess we're not meant to know as young adults what we know as seniors. Ok, as an oldster I gotta say this is still on my list of favorites, have you heard this one?

I still remember my now 12 year old niece, Amyra, going into my sister’s room when she was five, asking my sister to listen to some music. She said, “Sure, what do you want to hear?” “Smoke on the Water.” That tickled our funny bone. At least we know she has good taste!

The situation you decribed is very common,this is why experience is critical.you won't know sth at young age due to lack of experience,certainly,the old had more experience and they knew more.

I can't argue with that. It is a shame that unlike the Ancient Native Americans young people rarely heed that wisdom

Are we considered wise now?? Or just wiser

. I guess in our older age we understand how the whole equation works . . . in our youth, it's just random numbers and we don't quite see how it all adds up

Yeah, I suppose in some cases the older we get the wiser we seem to be but I know a few seniors who aren't all that wise and they're a few years younger than I am.

I am glad you like that song. Or if youngers at least considered what olders day, sometimes olders can relate tales of things they went through that could help a younger to avoid that same mistake.
