A night of bluegrass music

Last night, we stayed with Vince’s brother and the three of us went to a bluegrass concert. The first half of the program was put on by a local quintet, Bluegrass Parkway, which is also the name of a highway in Kentucky. The bass player, Maria, originally came from Lexington, Kentucky. They have been playing together for 35 years and have played all over the world. They only use the one microphone and it was interesting to see them make way for each other over the course of each song. The other group, Foghorn String Band, are from Portland, Oregon, and are in the middle of a six-week tour. They used one microphone for vocals but two others to pick up their instruments. We thoroughly enjoyed the night and managed to call back the US band for two encores. The photo is of the Foghorn String Band.

Bluegrass music always reminds me the movie "Blues Brother 2000". I am glad you enjoyed the bands.
