Going to see Napoleon

We leave in about an hour to take our car in for a service. It’s a Kia Cerato. We also have an elderly Toyota Prado. We bought the Kia when we first moved here 2 ½ years ago. I had a two-door Hyundai which had done a lot of miles. It was still going strong but wasn’t really suitable for taking ‘guests’ if we ever wanted to go out with friends. The Cerato is cheaper to run than the Prado and easier to park. It hasn’t done a lot of miles but unless we take it for a service at the stipulated times, we could void the manufacturer’s warranty. That’s all very well but the service doesn’t come cheaply. The garage has a shuttle bus which will take us to a major shopping centre. It leaves the premises at 9 and doesn’t return until 2pm so we’re going to fill a couple of hours by going to see Napoleon at the shopping centre theatre. The photo has little to do with the post but Napoleon's favourite charger was a white Arab which is what is in the photo. It's actually a Beswick ornament.

I was gonna say those horses didn't look exactly "real"... I also thought 'Napoleon' might be the horse's name...

No, it’s a pig in Animal Farm, but I did think the same.

It's very adequate for our needs. However, it doesn't have a CD player or UPS. You're supposed to use your phone if you want directions or music. That was a bit of a disappointment.

I thought the Horse in the picture would be named "Napoleon" 2.5 years - It looks just like yesterday when you told that you have shifted to a new place! How time flies Kia Cerato is a new brand name for me. I hope that your car gets a Good Service. My car service is also due in some time.

Cars are by no means cheap to maintain. And then there are taxes, at least there are here.

I thought about seeing Napoleon, but decided to give it a miss. The reviews have been very mixed and a historian, I follow online, has been less than keen on it

I really want to see that too and plan to go sometime over the holidays. It is supposed to be an enthralling movie. Nice to have the shuttle take you to the shopping center.

Napoleon is on my ‘to watch’ list. The trailer looks good and Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor. Loved him in Walk the Line. I hope it is good and you enjoy it.

Let me know what do you think of the movie Napoleon. I have read that the director made plenty of mistakes, but he does not accept to be criticized.

It is good to have the cars regularly serviced, especially so you don't mess up the warranty on it. Hope you enjoyed the movie.

After the car servicing is done you can go for a trip peacefully. Taking a vehicle for servicing isn't difficult but to bring it back you have to have some means of communication.

I can relate to your auto service woes. We need to take my SUV in for servicing which is due before 40,000km, and although the part is covered by warranty, the labour is not. It also requires an alignment afterwards, again, not covered under the warranty. We expect the bill to be just south of $1,000 for our out of pocket expenses. We drop our vehicle off the evening before by leaving the keys in the keybox, and then we will just swing over and pick it up before the close on the actual day of the appointment, which is next Monday.

I don't even want to talk about car problems. Let us know how the show goes. Good or bad.
