Have you seen lights yet?

I have not gone to see Christmas lights, but already my dad and his wife have with friends, as well as my sister and her family (they’ve gone 4 places). There is a place about 20 minutes from my place that was in that TV show, “The Great Christmas Light Fight”. They live out in the middle of nowhere, and people drive an hour or two to see their display (not many people pay to have their own radio station for you to listen to as you watch the 20 minute display). It is free, but they take food or money donations to their local food bank if you are kind enough to bring them.
So, have you gone to see any lights? What about you non Christmas people? Do you ever go look even if you don’t celebrate?
*The picture is of the Christmas ducks in my dad’s home. The front two are mine, but I gave them to Diana to add to her own ducks on the table, which look just like my two.

Oh I love those Christmas ducks. I like the Christmas Light Fight. I watch that every year. I think it is should be the Christmas delight though..as most of those places are awesome, if a bit over the top. Talk about Christmas spirit! They put most of us to shame. Anyway, I looked on the way back from Tgiving..some are decorated, some not in Culpeper when I was there they said they turned the lights on the 18th. I was a couple of days early. One of my neighbors has a pretty nice display. They have Christmas trees out front that have some kind of optical design. I have battery operated lights on my trees, bushes and around a lightpost.

@AmbiePam Thanks, it looks nice with the tree especially since darkness has fallen.

I just love your Christmas ducks, they are adorable, like a little family.
We used to go for drives to see the Christmas lights when our son was little, but the decorations are not as cared for as they used to be. They are all strung up plain, no homemade choo-choo trains in the yard with gift filled cars being towed. We have seen some really great homemade scenes.

Those Christmas ducks are dressed just right. When driving out at night l admire the homes and businesses that decorate. However, l have noticed some dimming of flambouyant displays over the years. Except for the rich most other folk are thinking of extra high electricity bills come January monthend.

Before Tday, we drove through a neighborhood they call Candy Cane Lane (well, there are many of them, this one is particularly grand). It's a residential area with huge homes - and each year many folks go all out with the lights - though we have not visited it since before the pandemic (not sure if people were still doing it). But I should tell you we drove through it during the DAY
. . . we wanted to see if people were starting to put the lights up or not

I haven't been out to see any lights yet. Some people have theirs up but it will probably be another week or two before it's worth driving around and looking. Nothing here as over the top as what you described from the people on tv.
I love watching that show The Great Christmas Light Fight. I bet I saw that episode they were on.

I haven't seen a lot of displays yet. I know there will be more in the next week. Then I will try to go out and see them. I always enjoyed a good Christmas light display. Some streets really do it up well.
I love the Christmas ducks display.

Love the Christmas ducks. No, we don't go look at Christmas lights. We used to take a ride around the neighborhood; but today it would take a bomb to get me out of the house when it's cold! Have a great day.

My daughter and family display Christmas lights and the Tree each year. .. and little presents underneath the Tree. My 3 sons used to hang Christmas lights outside front of our house. Magnificent time of the year!

Well, I haven't driven around yet, but do every year. My neighbor just put up a lighted wreath on his house. I usually wait a little after Thanksgiving to put up decorations. After all, I need to recover from all that fattening food and dessert.
