Eye doctor appointment, shopping and a birthday

Monday and Tuesday my 2 year old and I made crafts to hang on our lilac bush outside. I never decorate outside but I thought decorating the overgrown bush in protest of its removal will be fun for each holiday.
My husband and stepson finished grinding up the venison. They made mild sausage links, mild sausage rounds, bagged mild ground sausage, hot sausage links, hot sausage rounds and bagged hot ground sausage. 70 pounds of it in total and they also made venison jerky. I’m so glad all that is over and done with!
Tuesday my husband drove back to Bala Cynwood for his final follow up from his eye surgery in August. Everything healed well thankfully! Under his eye is a fatty area that’s been driving him nuts wondering what it was. It’s basically like a woman’s lower abdomen that gets a pouch after a C-section. Cutting through all the muscles causes them to never be the same.
That night my stepson went for his first exercise meet up with the marine recruiter and two other kids joining the military as well. He said he’s so out of shape that when he had to run a mile he almost threw up.
Wednesday my girls and I went Christmas and grocery shopping. We went to Ollie’s bargain outlet, Walmart and the Dollar Tree. We also stopped at a library where my oldest bought an armful of books on sale.
At 6pm we went to my mom’s for her birthday. I bought 3 different kinds of ice cream, two bottles of soda and made her Red Waldorf cupcakes but used store bought chocolate and vanilla frosting which you can see in the photo didn’t turn out how I hoped they would look but they tasted better then I expected.
My husband got a raise at work and handed me $100. I said awesome now I can get my parents Christmas gifts so then he handed me another $100 and I said awesome I’ll be able to get my kids some as well without worrying so much about how little I’ve made online.

You've got a lot going on! If you need any help eating all that venison, just give me a call. haha
I've had numerous eye surgeries over the years, and I've always feared how it would look with scarring and after-effects of surgeries. But so far my eyes still seem normal to me. I hope it stays that way.
That's nice that your husband got a raise. And the timing was good with the holidays coming up.

@moffittjc there’s no way the three guys here will be able to eat an entire freezer full of venison. It’s all wrapped and labeled though so if it doesn’t get eaten by next year I’ll find someone to give it to so it doesn’t get wasted. The jerky is all gone that went fast but there wasn’t a whole lot of it.
Eye surgery is terrifying to me. What kind of surgeries did you need to have done?
I believe he got a Christmas bonus as well

@moffittjc wow did you get an injury that pinched it maybe? Sounds so awful. Them doing it by scalpel had to be even scarier then the lasers they use now. I know my sister in law had to have scar tissue removed from her retina about a year ago.

@shaggin There was no identifying cause to why the artery got pinched. It baffled everyone.

@Ladyduck yes now all the mess is over and the chest freezer is completely full.
He was very kind to give me that money. It’s nice to know I can relax maybe read some books and not stress about what I will and will not be able to afford to buy for gifts for Christmas.
