Another tropical disease has found its way into the United States. Leishmaniasis has joined other tropical diseases spreading into our warming country. In 2014 a Texas doctor saw a 3-year-old patient who tested positive for the parasitic disease. The disease spreads by sand flies; and according to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), it has most likely been in this country for years. Most of the cases have been reported in Texas; but the reason for that is that Texas is the only state that requires reporting of the disease to health authorities. This makes it hard to track. One positive note: Only a small percentage of those infected with the parasite get the disease. There is no effective vaccine available at this time.
93 days until spring.

With all the climate changes, we might see more sickness and diseases coming in the future. The medical advancements and technology will have to keep up with it.
Your meals sound good.

@LindaOHio We are getting more different kinds of fever each year. And even the long existing sicknesses are coming with new variants and symptoms. Even the regular seasonal fou is no more like the earlier days.

I got a pizza from Dominos when I was out. I hadn't had one for a few months..actually no pizza other than ones I made here. It was pretty good, and didn't cost too much, but now I have leftovers.Oh I just remember I can store some of them in my pizza shaped container. I didn't think of that yesterday when I was putting it away.

Our temperatures here keep cool and we just had a heavy rain yesterday and today a strong wind blew. I started my day with a pork patty, a handful of fries topped with cottage cheese and a pickle. Later on rice with diced tomatoes and chicken nuggets. .

I'm sorry there is another disease coming from another country.
3 days to winter, 7 days until Christmas, 14 days until 2024.
Yesterday I had Fiber One and a banana for breakfast, cheddar biscuit, bacon Caesar salad with tuna and shredded cheese, and banana for lunch, and venison steaks with mushrooms and onions, and baked potato for dinner. My snacks were DC Dove Promise and fudge. I don't know if I want to step on the scale this morning. Though I know venison is good for you, so it might be all right.

This is very scary, as climate change could be the cause of new diseases. There is not much any of us can do about it now because it is too late. I also wonder what new diseases animals will get too, especially wild animals and birds that are not monitored as much as household pets.
