I'm getting some vaccines/shots today, etc.

I have a new grandbaby. He's about three weeks old yesterday, I think. I'd have to check a calendar to be sure. So, I decided I should begin getting some extra shots. I'm getting the basic flu shot and the one for rsv today and in a few weeks one of the COVID vaccines. I've not decided yet whether I'll get the one for pneumonia. Other than colds here and there I've not been sick for eight years. So we'll see. My last day at work is next Wednesday but I have today and tomorrow and Christmas off so I only have four days left to work. I worked nine hours last night, but some cashier's worked nine and a half. Wednesday nights we usually have limited employees in my department and then when it's busy late there's nothing much they can do. I might be working longer on Saturday night too although there should be a decent amount of people working after me. We have no snow on the ground where I live in Michigan. Our did snow once but melted the next day. It has been brisk though. I just read that the polar vortex will cause changes for Europe and the US for January and we should have more normal winter weather coming soon . Later on, after my shots I'm getting a few groceries and once I'm back home I need to make some phone calls and pay bills.

Congratulations on your new grandson. I could not understand what the "glue shot" is, but thinking twice I suppose you got the "flu shot". Most of the month of December has been sunny here.

@MarshaMusselman - It is very warm here today, but the wind is strong and unpleasant.

@LadyDuck we had a very windy day the first of this week but it was also brisk. In Christmas the temps might get up to fifty.

Yes, it was a flu shot. I'll fix that in a bit. We've had weeks with a lot of clouds but some sunny days too.

That's good that you're are enjoying the time with your family. I'll be spending Christmas with my siblings that live in the area and their kids. After Christmas we'll spend time with our grandkids to give them their gifts.

I need to make one of the calls before I retire. The other one I need to do today or tomorrow. Some of what I'm trying to get done may need to wait until after I retire.

Congratulations on the new grandson. Congratulations on your last days of work and your retirement. Are you having a retirement party? No snow here either. Once, maybe twice, but it quickly melted.

No party that I know of, which is fine. Years ago when someone from our department retired we'd meet at Logan's and there organizer would buy a large cake from our store. Once she retired it hasn't been done since.

@just4him it was fun while it lasted but it was hard to get everyone there that wanted to go since we all worked in the same department.

Do you mean your last day of work 'forever' or just until after Christmas? Congratulations to all on the new grandbaby. How cool is that right on Christmas.

I'm not sure what your mean by your last sentence. But, yes, I'm retiring for good from my cashiering job. My pension begins the first of January. I'll still be cleaning windows for two to four years. At that time I hope to make enough from my books that I can offer a higher wage to get someone back that can manage the business until we close it down or sell it. I have a lot I hope to accomplish while I'm still healthy.

Yes, twice. But I didn't hold him yet. I saw him after he came home from the hospital and that's when I took the picture and again last week at church. I hope to go visit weekly ish until she has to go back to work.

Thank you. I was trying to post a pic of him with his older brother but the image must be too big. Finally I cropped it to just show the baby and that came thru fine.
