I Can’t Find His Other Present

I got my brother-in-law two presents for Christmas, but last night I couldn’t find one of them. Having so little time, I texted my sister, asking her what he liked to drink. She said Root Beer. I got online, and viola! A local store had gourmet root beer, and I’m all set. I’m glad I had a gift card because that stuff was expensive! Sure, it’s not the best gift in the world, but I know my brother-in-law, and he’ll be happy. Plus, he still has the other gift. Honestly, he’d be just as happy if I got him nothing. Have you ever had to get a present at the very last minute? What did you do?

You solved the problem and he gets something he will like . I may have told this story before, but my co-worker friend and I bought stuff for everyone we worked with . . . a main gift plus all these funny little gifts. Well we forgot about this 1 guy (no one really liked him). So my friend went through her pantry and got out a Cup O Noodle . . . THAT turned out to be his main gift .

I'm someone that always does things far in advance. My husband is the one that waits until the last minute. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Eve.

I was disappointed in myself because I had planned everything so carefully. And thank you; I hope your Christmas Eve is incredibly blessed.

Its why I hate Christmas, and yeah, I had one friend straight throw my gift in trash. Poor and scrambling is never a good sign. I just stay away from any parties that are not family these days this time of year. People crazy.

I used to simply give $$ but I'd try to find new bills when I did.

It sounds like you've done really well. I hid Vince's present then couldn't find so I started thinking, if I bought it today, where would I hide it, and that fixed it for me. I found it straight away! I'm sure your BIL will love his present.

Yes, sometimes. I was usually just shopping on Christmas Eve. Friend was out looking for a gas giftcard today when he had several days to do it..we will see what he shows up with. It's not for me.

We do not exchange gifts here and so no issues with last minute hassle.

I panicked so much. I wanted to gift my husband something and I found a perfect gift but unfortunately, it was not a surprise. He knew exactly what it was. Kinda ruin the surprise.

@AmbiePam Yes Indeed. I don't know why but if I'm getting a gift for someone I don't like telling them unless I have no choice.

Hopefully the one misplaced will turn up, you can just give it late if so. He seems like a real easy person to please so that's good. I have at times had to get last minute presents, there's nothing like Wal-Mart in a pinch, lol. Seems they have things for everybody.

The best gift is something that you know that is appreciated. I am sure he will appreciate. I remember that (years ago) Mom, when she visited me in Monte Carlo, had bought a necklace for my sister in law. I bought a similar one. The day she had to offer the necklace she could not find it. As I was wearing mine, I took if off and I told her to give her mine and we would have found the other another day.

What a relief for you to solve that problem, and glad it worked out so well. I plan, wrap, and hide gifts well in advance.
