1 January 2024 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Happy New Year. The good news is we still have snow on the ground. It was COLD out there today. I don't remember what it was supposed to get to for a high, but I don't think it got out of the low 30s F. It was sunny all day. Today was a perfect day. I went to bed after the ball dropped and then counted down for the central time zone. I was awake 4.5 hours later. I'm thankful for getting the laundry done again today. I needed to get the sheets washed and towels and whatever other laundry there was. I had it in the washer by 4:45 and out of the dryer by 6:30 and put away shortly after I got the Bible study done and posted. I'm thankful I went shopping to get the other three items I forgot yesterday. It made the punch perfect. I needed Sprite and raspberry sherbert. I'm thankful I had all the food on the table before the parade started. So I could watch the parade. I'm thankful I didn't sit here wondering if I was going to have anyone show up for the open house. Someone showed up as soon as the parade was over and I had a full house until the end. It was perfect and a great success. I'm thankful for the gifts people brought and the smokies in barbeque sauce. They were very good. One couple brought me a trail mix that I also added to the table for munchies, and another couple gave me a beautiful geranium. At least I think that's what it is. It's red and I hope it's hardy and I won't kill it. I'm thankful for the added chairs someone brought. They were filled. I don't know how many people came, but it was a wonderful turnout. I'm thankful I have it all cleaned up and the dishes are in the dishwasher. Okay, you can see it was a wonderful day and a great way to bring in the new year. You can see why I wasn't here all day. I gave away a few rocks, which was good. Oh, I almost forgot, another friend gave me those geese you see in the picture above. She made those. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading.
