I’ve been missing for a few days but hope to catch up with all your news soon. I’ve probably missed a few notifications too so I’m sorry about that. I hope Christmas was a happy time for you all. The photo is of Lester, one of the two cats we looked after at our last home-sit. We came home New Year’s Eve and it’s taking a while to get back into the swing of things. Tomorrow morning we’re attending a brunch for a friend who is turning 70 so we’re looking forward to that. Tonight is movie night at our village and we’ll be watching Men of Honor.

He walked down to the dam with us and the dogs and coming back he was panting but he didn't want me to carry him.

@JudyEv We have just one now but she has been on holiday at our sons house for a year now. I’m quite sure my wife’s working up to rescuing another once we get settled.

@xFiacre Our son went back to Meath and picked up their two cats. They'd become 'outside' cats at the farmhouse but had been fed from time to time. They're now enjoying being 'inside' cats again.

We watched Men of Honor and really enjoyed it. It was based on a true story and I usually enjoy those sorts of films.

@JudyEv I hope so. I am reading some scary stories from your country. It is quite hot and you have apparently had issues with snakes making their way into toilets. That would make me stop using that room as often as I do, just imagine!

@LadyDuck Vince is seeing the dentist on Monday. Even the problem of having a filling or extraction is compounded because of his heart issues and diabetes. He has to have a course of antibiotics before any work in done on his teeth then a gap of at least 2-3 weeks before they do any work on his heart.
