A tacky blow-up tree

While we were house-sitting in Greenhills, Western Australia, we went out to dinner. I’ve written about the battery-operated candles which were on the tables and maybe one day soon I’ll post a photo of my yummy mini-pavlova. However, I thought the blow-up Christmas tree in the restaurant would have been better left in its box. It had deflated somewhat and looked very tacky really. To me, at first sight, I thought it was some sort of weird monster thing but looking closer I could see it’s meant to be a Christmas tree with presents underneath. Not all Christmas decorations are attractive.

You are so right! One man's exquisite Christmas decoration is another man's nightmare.

I might write about the pavlova next. I'm running out of subjects lately.

Better to put it away than to have it sitting there like that.

@JudyEv I fully agree, it's not at all a cute tree, it's a sad tree.

@JudyEv i mean if they were lazy they could have got one of the ones with the lights already on them. boom, instant tree and you didn't have to work for it, and it still looks good.

It looks even worse because it's not fully inflated.

It does look deflated. I'm sure it looked nice when it was fully inflated.

It probably looked okay when it was first blown up but it looks pretty awful at the moment.

It might be alright if it were fully inflated but I thought it looked pretty gross like this.

I do not like these blow up decor items for any holiday. Here we get lots of wind and sometimes freezing temperatures and you get up in the morning and all the wind blown monstrosities have collapsed on the lawn. Not attractive at all.

You don't see a lot of them here but they look pretty gross if they deflate at all.

You have to wonder what attracted someone to it in the first place. I guess tacky always has a market.

It must have appealed to someone there for them to buy it and put it up.

I see no beauty in that tree either. Those nylon types of decorations are awful looking.

It would look better if blown up some more. Maybe they didn't want to inflatable to be out in the weather or something.

It would indeed look better if it were fully blown up. There isn't much that is attractive about it as it is.

The other decorations looked quite nice but this one was just plain awful. They had nice little Christmas trees on all the tables.
