Just spent a lot of money on toilet paper

$63.13 to be exact. I did not want to spend that much, however, I didn't want to have to pay for shipping. And this was the cheapest option for me. I will now have 64 mega rolls of toilet paper. Should last me a long time I hope. I got Quilted Northern Ultra Plush toilet paper. It was a 32-mega roll package. The price for it was $29.31 (w/o tax), which amounted to about 92 cents per roll. Not bad considering it's usually more than a dollar per roll. Packages with less rolls were more expensive per roll. I was going to get just one package, however, I'd have to pay for shipping as Amazon's minimum for free shipping is now $35 instead of $25. I did not want to do that so got two packages. The total (with tax) came out to $63.13. And that's with the 69 cents in Capital One Rewards I used when placing the order. It said that I saved $17.27 on shipping. I can't believe it would cost me that much to ship the toilet paper to my house. Good thing for the free shipping option. While I spent more money than I wanted to I won't have to worry about buying toilet paper for a while.

You should be right for toilet paper for a while. Nothing worse than running out.

@lovebuglena I know some use a lot. We're both pretty frugal with it.

The longer it lasts the better. If I lived alone it would last me much longer than it does being married. Hubby uses way more paper than me.

That wasn't too bad, I get mine at the discount grocery store and get a 12 pack. It lasts me 2 1/2 months, provided I don't get a case of diarrhea. The fortunate thing is that Freya hasn't discovered that toilet paper is fun to tear up. Of course I live alone except for the 2 cats so I'm safe. I don't buy much that needs to be shipped. I have a hankering for some mohair fabric for bears, so maybe the first of February it might be my Valentines gift. I want some curly jeans blue fabric with one inch pile. It ain't toilet paper, but it makes me happy.

A 12-pack would not last that long here I think. Hubby tends to use a lot of paper. A roll doesn’t last long in this house. At least not in the master bathroom.

@BearArtistLady folding is a good idea. If only people would want to do that. Our toilet paper is 3-ply. No reason to use a mountain of it each time to wipe the butt.

@lovebuglena My "Ex" used to run us out of toilet paper in a heartbeat. I couldn't figure it out, so when one roll ran out, I hung a corn cob on the roller. He got really upset and screamed his head off for me. I took my time walking into the bathroom and asked what his problem was. He shook the corn cob at me and demanded a roll of toilet paper. I calmly told him no and that our budget didn't include massive amounts of T.P. like he was using. Up until then I had never seen a person turn so red...he sputtered and then roared at me to get the toilet paper. I got the roll and measured off a reasonable amount and handed it to him. He wiped once and started to toss it, and I informed him that he could fold it and wipe again. I went on to teach him how to use less T.P. and if he wanted toilet paper rather than a corn cob or newspaper he better start conserving. I thought he would explode, but he relented and started using WAY less. (I got a good laugh out of the episode when he left for work!)

I hope we never get into a toilet paper shortage again. That was nuts.

I hope so too. Though there are still people selling it for ridiculous amounts of money I bet.

I hate paying for shipping. I would have doubled up on my purchase as well. Have a good evening.

I would’ve needed to get it again at some point anyway. Made sense to just double up, even though I didn’t really want to spend that much in one shot.

I prefer the cold weather so not sure I'd want to spend my time in Arizona.

I doubt it will even last till fall. Hubby used lots of it. A roll lasts about two days in the main bathroom. If I’m lucky three days.

I would have loved for it to be even cheaper but I will take these savings over paying more.
