That Childhood Friend of Mine

So a lot of you remember the childhood best friend of mine who had many unnecessary surgeries (ordered by one doctor) performed on her in a poor effort to find out what was wrong with her. I had discussed her finally being diagnosed with POTS and diabetes (they should have caught diabetes years ago).
She is going through it…again. First, if I told you all the crazy stuff her family has been through you wouldn’t believe it. It’s crazy. But recently her cousin was diagnosed with cancer, he had surgery for it (testicular cancer), and they actually sent him home the same day! How do they send someone home after that kind of surgery?! The poor guy is in tremendous pain. Then, yesterday, I texted her happy birthday, and she texted me back she was in the hospital. She can’t keep anything down, she’s passing out in the middle of conversations, and she’s falling indiscriminately. I really hope something good happens for her soon.

Wow, that sounds dreadful. At least you have someone you can feel healthy in comparison to. I hope they figure out the best way to treat her...poor thing.

I am sorry to hear about all of that. I wish I knew more to say than that

Since she is diabetic, has anyone looked at gastroparesis? It has those symptoms. As far as sending people home too soon, that is the fault of the insurance refusing to pay for extended stays.

You’re smart. She WAS diagnosed with that last week.
Yes, as my friend put it, her cousin only has insurance “through the Indians”. I cannot believe that is legal. She also said they don’t prescribe narcotics. How does one have that kind of surgery, but for after care isn’t allowed narcotics?

I hope your friend is okay and they find out what's wrong. She has been through so much already.

The hospital should be sued for those many unnecessary surgeries.

That's really pathetic. Operations shouldn't be conducted mindlessly and post operation care is very essential.
