Renovations still going on

Our renovations are still going on. We finally got the backsplash for the kitchen but the contractor is working on the walls downstairs and so is not doing the tiles. And he still has to fix the ceiling that the kitchen install people screwed up. I wonder when he will finally start working on that so we can have a fully finished kitchen. The living room bathroom is finished it seems like. Only thing left to do is install the towel ring and the toiler paper holder and then the frame on the outside of the door. But that he will do I think after he does the entire outside wall where the bathroom is. We are repainting the ceilings and walls on the first and second floor, as well as the hallway on the third floor. And we are replacing the moldings in those places as well. Plus, we are fixing the floors and the stairs. We have to pick out baseboard moldings and paint colors. That is not an easy task. Not sure on the baseboard moldings. I don't even know what people do these days. I do have some paint colors in mind though, so that's a start. But I don't know how many colors to choose. Each floor should probably have a different color. But then what about the two flights of stairs? Do I match them to one of the wall colors or have them totally different? I am no interior designer. I don't want to pick something that won't work.
