Today I read again a post I had written on my birthday 7 years ago. One of my friends here, Jim Bauer ( @porwest ), just answered it. Many things have changed in my life in these 7 years. My mother is no longer living and we bought her house. I was then working to throw a birthday party and over 30 people were invited. One of the lotters who answered my post is no longer with us. I´m sure that many of you still remember and miss Fredo. The post also brought back the chicken provenzale I made for that occation. Then I did not have a pot big enough to do it for too many people. But now I have 2 big pots that I vould use to invite 10 people instead of the 30 I used to invite. Friends, I felt as when I watch old pictures.

Some of the memories that are triggered by such things are amazing. Things that happened 7 years ago can seem like they happened in the way distant past.

I know. We can remember the whole situation by just looking at a photo or listening to an old song.

My birthday was Wednesday the 17th. I didn’t announce it, as I know we aren’t supposed to do Happy Birthday posts. Mt facebook popped up with a lot of birthday memories that made me feel good to read. There have been a lot of changes in the last 10 years or so. But I’m still here, still determined and not giving up on anything. I try to find joy in the little things and I truly do value my friends and family.

I didn´t know that we aren´t supposed to do happy birthday posts. I suppose that it has to do with what you write about it.

A belated Happy Birthday to you! I hope you had a good day. Yes we all need to enjoy the little things in life - because there are far more of them than big things. And in the end, it's the little things that really matter!

Yes, it is nice to look back on those posts. That's why I would never delete any post I have written here. It's like a diary. And yes, Alfredo. I miss him.

Mylot is my virtual house, mylotters are the visitors that come to my house as if at a party. I have to come to the site every day.

I never delete my posts either. There are some friends who have left them and I miss many of them. The only time in my life that I have sent money for that Go fund me foundation was when Bhem desperatly needed money to keep alive. I miss her.

@marguicha - The new Admin posted the link to the Go fund me for Gill. He was an awesome guy. I remember that the owner of myLot donated 500 dollars that I found generous.

Yes, MyLot can act like a diary and take us back to past experiences. A lot changes in a few short years. Yes I remember Fredo well.

That's kind of how I look at it too. A diary or a chronicle. Since we talk so much about our lives, it's fun to go back sometimes and see what we were up to and what we thought about it.

@porwest I write here as I would a diary. I write short stories in my native language but even though they have a lot of myself, there is a twist in them that have to do with the seeking of art.

That is an aspect of visiting old posts I hadn't considered. Glad it brought back some memories for you. Yep, lots of folks in a lot of those old posts no longer with us. Sad they are gone, but fun to see a snippet of what they left behind that is still here.

@porwest I have met personally a couple of mylotters. One of them Coral, was in Aruba with me for a week. We got along beautifully and I felt that I had known her personally all my life. She left mylot last year and I respect her ideas. I am worried about some lotters´ absense. I don´t know what they are doing and if they are in good health.

@marguicha We do make friends here. That's for sure. Granted, we meet few of them if any of them in person. In fact, I have never anyone here in person. But we do become friends who care about each other, feel sad for each other and happy for each other. We become concerned when someone is absent for a spell. It truly is a community in every sense of the word.
