Will $83 million in damages be enough to shut Trump up? Could this decision help him run a better campaign?

Trump got off with a lighter settlement than some expected, but $83 million is still a substantial chunk of change for most of us.
Do you think this will be enough to quiet Donald Trump?
I actually think it will not, but if he decided to stop slandering/defaming his sexual assault victim, and to start talking policy, could the decision actually help his campaign?
If you have watched some of Trump's midnight tirades on "Truth Social," you have probably noticed that he spends a lot of time whining about the many civil and criminal counts against him, but that he rarely discusses policy.
If he starts discussing policy, could he attract new voters?
I am sure that Trump will "appeal" this latest court decision. I have read (I could be wrong) that Trump has not yet paid that writer lady the $5 million he owed her before today.
But he still has to put that money up in "escrow," or something similar, pending any appeals. Same with the $83.3 million he just lost.
This could lead to him having to sell off some of his assets to raise the cash, as he may not have close to $100 million in cash.
What are your thoughts? Will he stop whining and start talking policy?
Will he lose some of his assets?
Is a man like him capable of having a "come to Jesus" moment" and repenting?

You are very generous in giving him so much time. I was thinking more like 12 hours.

@moffittjc I actually said the same on my post about the verdict.

He will never stop whining, but those settlement decision that I hear in the United States are more than ridiculous. Nowhere here in Europe someone would be condemned to pay so much money. How much does that woman earn each year? Is this amount of money really reasonable? In my opinion NO.

I like the "better campaign" idea. I mean, do you mean the one where he once again knocked everyone else on the GOP stage OFF the stage—and never once even put a foot on the stage? You mean the one where he is now (in nearly all polls) beating Joe Biden? That campaign?

I mean one where he shares ideas about how to improve policy. The two areas where Biden is vulnerable are border security and crime. If his advisors can come up with specific platforms in these areas (and he stops whining about the past), could he become viable?

@porwest Violent crime spiked in the early 1990s, dropped for the next several years, rose a bit under Trump, and is kind of wavering now. I hadn't realized that murder rates were higher per capita in "red" states than "blue" states. I would have thought it to be the opposite, as blue states tend to have more large urban areas, which I associate with violent crime. Guess I'm never too old to learn.

@TheHorse What does he have to say other than knowing he already did these things when he was president before? When he says, "I will secure the border," everyone knows what he did before to do it successfully, what else needs to be said? On the crime issue he has been very clear how he will do it, and again, we had less crime under Trump than we have now under Biden.
I think the questions you are seeking answers to have already been answered and the real problem is that you simply deny the border was more secure and crime was more under control.
I can't help you to see what you don't want to see. I can only tell you what really happened and what will happen if he is back in office.

Disgusting man, who has too many blind supporters in spite of everything he has done.

I am not sure what its supposed to do. Its actually disappointing because shows people to scared of him. I do not know why, i would flip him over like a shark. Many scary people in this world, he is not one. Law enforcement is scary because they think he is scary. Come stand with the coyotes leader. That dude is scary.

He will never stop whining. And he's not going to let something as small as $83 million slow him down. And he doesn't care one way or the other if he has the money, he'll just do a fundaraiser to come up with the cash. He'll send out some mass email or text or robocall to all his supporters begging for money to help him, and the cash will come pouring in.

@TheHorse I mean, there will always be a few who see the light, but I don’t think it will happen with the mass of his followers.

Hummm, let's see...to start with, he will never stop whining. He was born whining and has made it this far through life whining, so why quit? He'll whine even harder because of the money he has to come up with, after all he's gonna be poor!!!
Yep, he's going to lose some of his assets. I'm sure he doesn't keep that kind of money in petty cash, especially if it means that he has to pay out taxes on it, so he's going to hide it somewhere so he doesn't have the IRS tracking it and figuring income taxes on it.
He won't talk policy and stop whining or defaming people. Shoot, you look at pictures of the man and he looks like he sucked a lemon grove!!! I never saw that many wrinkles or sour looks on a person before...he looks like something from a horror movie!!! I sometimes wonder if he smiled if his face would shatter. Anyhow, he has set his life's pattern and it isn't going to change. He isn't going to have a Jesus moment and repent...that's going to be almost as difficult as his apologizing to all the people he has hurt along his life's path. He feels he has done nothing wrong.
I will say that it isn't too bright whining about the civil and criminal counts against him in court...uhhh, it doesn't do his political campaign much good. There are still some people who believe that the President of the United States should be somewhat honest and not be a whiner and have some backbone and stand up for what they did and apologize about what they did. He isn't going to show that kind of strength and...well in his eyes he didn't do anything wrong so why should the American public discuss it?????? He's going to come clean and repent the day he decides that he is going in for "the operation" that changes him from a male to....

@TheHorse Neither am I. As my mom used to say, "The man thinks his sh*t doesn't stink!" One day the man might be surprised to find out that he was born into the human race and his actions and attitude kept him from being considered part of such.
Come to think of it, I don't think that the man would be accepted into the bowels of hell either. I don't think that the Devil would want to have to deal with him either. Again, to quote my mom, "God don't want him and the Devil is afraid of him!!!" It's the kind of thing that he is going to end up with no place to spend his "retirement" years.
